Ordering a new M17X, what color?

Im waffling on Nebula Red and Space Black. Im ordering it mostly built up with dual 4870's, 4 gigs of 1333mhz, blue ray burner and the QX9300. Also, anyone think its worth the bucks to upgrade to the 8 gigs of 1333mhz? Im thinking I should do that myself down the road and 4 gigs is plenty for now. Opinions?

I went with space black on my new order. To me it just looks and blends in the best. However, thats just me. Some people here will tell you the red looks good and the pics of it dont do it justice. As for 8 gigs of ram well im no certainly expert, but I would think people would only need that much ram if they were running super powered intensive programs.

 

The red looks beautifully stunning in person.

 

The main reason I went with red the second time around was you can buy the black or gray plastics but you cannot buy the red.

 

I like the red but the AlienFx will be the best with the black imo, and 8 gigs is not worth it at this point, they charge you an arm and a leg and unless you are doing intense work 4 gigs will help you game just fine

8GB isn't even worth it at 1066 MHz. I suggest 4GB at 1066 MHz (this is for the OP).

As for colours, the best one for Alien FX, no doubt about it, would be Space Black. That's what I have, and I love it.

 

I can tell you firsthand that space black is a fingerprint magnet. I don't know about neb. red, but silver doesn't get fingerprints (because of its color).

I'm returning my unit, because of the fingerprints (as well as the release of new graphics cards).

 

I'm biased. I love the red. But hace to admit the black does look a bit meaner

Im ordering plaid...comes with Alien Edition Golf Pants. Then Im trading Moo. lol

(PS. Moo, you can have the pants too but they're 99 bucks.)

I'm for black 99% of the time but I gave my reasons for getting the red.

 

Wet cloth or dry?

 

The important is your video cards PCB color

 

Microfiber cloth, cotton cloth with a solution on it, napkin, Kleenex or that rag you just used to clean up an oil spill.

It all works.

 

If you're getting the ATI cards than you gotta show the ATI love by getting the red chassis

I would go for silver personally. Out of those two though, black

 

For me silver does not provide enough flare (having owned a silver AW for a few years now), it is still a great looking case

Limited edition is nice but don't pick it solely for that reason, you are going to be special just having an AW

I've seen it since I started looking into an M17x.

 

It has been a recent update, but it says "limited edition nebula red!"

 

It's a limited Edition due to the fact that they are charging $99.00 while the silver and black has no upcharge.

I have seen the black and red up close (owned both), I have yet to see the silver.

The red is "special edition" not "limited edition." In which case it's here to stay, as always.

Of course now that I ordered black, I think "Hmm maybe I should have given red more thought" Oh well, still glad I got black.

don't worry I figure you are going to call up smooth creations and get your system painted blue with a red "S" on the cover

 

I think that smooth creations don't do paint job on systems which they don't sold anymore

You have to remember, black and silver are neutral colours that won't get in the way of any Alien FX setting, unlike red (or any other wacky tacky colour you're thinking of).

 

Yeah that is the main reason I like black, everything goes with black but like I said I have always been a fan of wacky AW colors
