Ordering over the phone or by site?..

Does ordering over the phone speed the proccess of recieving my alienware m15x or will i recieve it at the same time as by ordering from the alienware website?.

also i know everyone says over the phone you save money but realy ive been on the phone with over 8 sales reps in the past 2 days and none can offer anything better then what ive found by myself.. they acualy had charged me more for less upgrades when all i had to do is go to alienware.com and theres a simple$300 savings im getting to spend on extra upgrades so now ill have a good bit more for alot less

 

I actually hate dealing with reps, especially those who speak very poor english. Website all the way for me!

 

yea i agree about the english too, but 3 of them that i asked told me that ordering over the phone proccess the order faster and ill get it in quicker.. but then they say its 9-10 build time and 3-5day shipping lol.. so idk.. but then again online it says 9day shipping and i have to go with 7day shipping.. its confusing about that since there giving me the 3-5 day shipping at the same price as the 7day shipping.. but one thing is for sure, if you say something like "Can i call back in a few hours when i get home to place the order" ..they seem to freak out and try despreatly getting me to order at that point..

 

Remember, they all receive commission so are desperate for your order. I ordered mine using the website and had it in hand 14 days later. Once your order is entered into the system, either by rep or website, it should be the same time frame to build and ship it. I have heard that reps can 'expedite' an order if circumstances warrant it, but I have serious doubt that this occurs often. Regardless, the sooner you order, the sooner you will have your system!

 

Even though I greatly appreciate DR650SE's thread (hell... I used that advice the other day and avoided paying ticket to the police officer who stopped me! ) if you stack all the discounts, like EPP, $100 off coupon for purchase over $1k, and 3% DPA if you can, you can still end up with a pretty sweet deal.

I don't believe there is any difference in build process speed, regardless of what they'll tell you. There are many MANY layers between the sales representative on the phone and the folks who are actually assembling the laptops in China. It *may* happen that you happen to get it sooner than someone who ordered the other way, but regardless of whether you purchase through web or the phone.

 

well she's calling back at 1pm to continue the order soo ill try to see what i can get, if i can get any percentage off then ill place the order with her.. but if she seems to not want to help me then ill repay the favor..

 

Phone for sure I managed to get about a total of 21% off my M17x original price. I know a really god rep., if you want I can PM you his number and extension. But I don't know if he comes in to work on Sat.

 

if you could pm me.. the offer im looking at expires on the 27th of may.. so i have a few days to order.. but how exactly does anyone save money from ordering?.. seems like these reps has no choice at all for lowering prices

 

Where's the coupon code for the $100 off? The only coupon I can find is the 5% off, but that doesn't work with EPP.

 

I deal almost exclusivly with Team Maverick (though i was only sent to them by a fluke of fate and not by my choice), I've never pushed for some of the deals that others have seemed to get. But i'm always offered free shipping and a bit off the final price. Plus its never taken me over 8 days to get a system shipped.

I order my systems Friday and by the next Saturday they have always been delievered with out fail.

 

Online is the best. The reps messed up my order every time I order over the phone.

 

yea lol they dont ask you anything about the name plate so you have to go over EVERYTHING with them.. mainly the women on here from my exp. dont realy help much there straight to the payment.. lol may be stupid but for the 3 i had they wouldnt help for nothing.. the guys helped me out and told me about the system since im guessing they knew what alienware was..

 

Well (from the Ordering Advice thread), you can setup the spec you want in your cart when you're logged in, then the rep can just pull the cart that you have on his screen.

 

The 3% DPA expired a while ago.

 

They offered it to me 4 days ago when I ordered.

 

W#F for real!!!!? I did order on the 14th and the guy said it was expired!!

 

Yea they offered it and I took it, but they (foreign reps) messed up my order so went to team black hawk.

 

Is there anything I can do now to get it? Actully thinking of just sending it back and make a new order because I´m pissed right now. What do you mean with "team black hawk"? Reps from USA?

 

I got 3% DPA yesterday also, from my EPP rep.

 

Damn right now I hate reps with an accent. What do you think I should reorder?

 

Wouldn't hurt to ask I think. I know if you try to cancel an order they will give you deals, just to make you keep your order.

 

Just chatted with a Dell EPP rep and she said the 3% off is for first time buyers and people who just opened a DPA account. Damn am I pissed now or what. Asked about it when I did order and it was the first time and everything.

 

I order by phone... Nothing else, I managed to knock 14,2% off. This is about €432/$539... So if that isn't a good discount, I don't know what is...

My guess would be that you can't get those discounts at the Web!

 

Yup that $100 code worked for me, with EPP discount yesterday.
