    Overclocking Help Please

    Hi Guys,

    After being a little disapointed with my performance on this machine i decided to have a play with overclocking

    Stock results for system in my sig were about 11050 in 3dmark06

    i used setfsb to oc my cpu to 2.7ghz and got what is in the image below

    My temps didnt go over 54 degress on either cpu core during this test

    What is a safe temp for intels nowadays (saying that i used to do alot of oc'ing but havent for 3/4 years)

    I have tried running the ati tools as well but cant seem to get the gpu to over clock, is it locked with the new drivers?

    Any help and or tips would be very welcome

    Hi, it seems that you cant overclock ati cards with catalyst drivers above 8.5.

    I can overclock using AMD Tool because I use catalyst 8.5, but I also would like to know if its possible to overclock using newer drivers.

    ok here is the news :p

    catalyst 8.10 or lower is the only driver that will OC and you use ati GPU tool


    this isn't the limit but i say keep it under 80 for sure and 70 to be safe :)

    i got the 8.10 installed and yes its still moddable :)

    check out this, what do you think not a bad improvement on stock?

    bump the memorey up to 1020 and core to 800 :)
