Eh, that article really didn't have much real info that we didn't already know. felt mostly like fluff.

One thing I did find interesting was the price thing. They say they tailor their machines to what consumers want, and that comes at a premium. I can understand that. But what I can't understand is why the m17x still doesn't come standard with a 1080p screen. There is no excuse when the base price is already 1500 dollars and there are bloody 800 dollar laptops (including several sold by dell) where 1080p comes standard..

Because people like us will continue to flock to their website and pay the extra $150 to get the 1080p screen and they know it. Given that they are a business and their goal is to make money I find it completely understandable.

I agree with SlimShady's comment. They're in business to make money. As long as people are willing to pay extra for a decent display resolution and the lower resolution LCD panel is still available, why not charge extra for something better?

But, I'm surprised the lower resolution panel is still offered and shocked that anyone cheaps out on this... I'm guessing the only takers are probably those that have never owned a 1080p display and don't know any better. I think that 1080p should be the minimum resolution for all system with a 15" display and greater among all manufacturers. A 1080p resolution is plenty for most, but anything less than 1080p sucks.
