Sorry to hear, moo.
Yeah the pics that are supposed to show the LED error's has been broken on dell's website for a long time.
Try to contact gabe because he should have the DCSE documents (which will include the LED error codes). -
he will see this .....
strange because everything works ....
i am playing L4D right now ... -
Yeah, but something isn't right. lol
Obviously it's something minor, but I doubt you want your lights to keep flashing... -
doesn't bother me .... i just wanna know because i am a curious dude ..... i have to examine every thing
-
lol
It would drive me nuts! -

When I was overclocking that would happen at times and then I would back down the fsb and it would quit... A list of all codes and light combinations would be great.
-
It just went away .... I changed nothing
-
lol.. nice.. Hope they dont come back..

Hi Moo,
According to my documentation, your system is experiencing an LCD initialization issue.
Here are the steps to resolve it:
1. Reseat the LCD cable.
2. Replace the LCD panel.
3. Replace the video card.
Thanks,
Gabe -
...... I think it's my gpu tbh
my gpu fans been screwy .... -
Where can i find full documentation on the status lights? I would like to save them for reference. -

your right gabe.....that is exactly what happened to mine.....good call.....good luck moo.. -
I just hit the identical issue after kickstarting my fan manually by removing it. I got the fan to co-operate, but this flashing is annoying. How long before yours went away?

Haha been too long, and yeah I just started having the same problem today, hopefully I can get this resolved... I am going to try reattaching the the touch panel cable... hope to see you guys around more

On topic: Have you guys done the power drain yet? -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
No I'm doing that tonight.. however I did reseat the Ram, and the cables to no avail.
And as to dissapearing I started college and have not has alot of time to be on here -

After running Diagnostics, my computer has determined that I have no LCD cable... although all other tests pass.. including LCD test's... False positive
-
We are not the first to recieve this error ... Unless it's hurting you ignore it

i never even seen this thread.
maybe because it was created on my birthday.
but what's the status of everything?
the lcd cable is big to me.... is the lcd still working fine? -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yeah the LCD cable is working brilliantly still... all the tests are fine, it's just reporting a false positive on the cable.. saying that there isn't a cable present

Update the bios
-
Wierd problem. the only other time i've seen this happening is on dell laptops, if the ram needs to be reseated
Had an inspiron 6400 last week with this issue. 2 lights flashing.
Took out the ram, cleaned the slots and chips and reseated. machine worked fine. strange thing about yours is the machine is booting. the 6400 i was working on wouldn't boot -

So an update guys, today I tried to burn a disk on my MATA BD-RE UJ235A 1.01 (SATA)... Blu-ray burner drive... using IMG Burn and it reported an error with the drive... I am still testing to see if this is the problem, but I'm hoping not

Hey guys, I hate to resurrect an old thread but need some suggestions. I couldn't sleep lastnight, layed in bed till 4:30, at which point i decided I would over sleep if I did fall asleep. So, I started doing some benchmarks. Was having issues, and decided to clean everything. Tore down the M17X so I could clean the heatsinks. My problem is when I pulled the GPU cards to get the dust out of the heatsinks, i forgot I had flashed the GPU bios with the settings I was using for the OC. I put the computer back together and when I went to start it I was getting a blank screen, num lock and scroll lock were flashing and caps was solid. Then when I tried starting it after a few times holding the right shift button, I was getting the same LED error code except it would beep twice. So basically here is my question. Was removing the GPUs with an OC bios on them a large mistake? Tonight I'm going to tear it down again and reseat everything, but I was curious as to the BIOS on the GPU made a differance. Any advice would help.
Oh, and something I need to vent about. When I opened it, it appears that my broadcom wireless card is dead. I went to removed the blue wire from the terminal and it was loose, which was odd, but then again I don't use wireless here, I use a cable for my internet (iraq). Well it seems that the piece wasn't on the board well, because it was still in the wire. When I swapped my CPU I used a tool to take the wire off, and was careful putting it on so how it came off the board has me stumped. Guess I'll have to call dell on that one or buy a new one. -
Um did you lock the CPU ? It is a easy mistake
And flashing the gpus wasn't a mistake it's just a loose wire somewhere -
Good to hear. Actually I had forgotten to lock the cpu, it was late, I was sleep deprived, worst idea ever... but when I almost had it together I realized it, went back in and locked it down. So tonight the plan is dinner, 10+ hours of sleep, work and then maybe get back into it when Im rested. I might have to send it back, due to the wireless card, I'll call tech support tonight. Today is day 21 after reciept. Thanks Moo.
POST ERROR LED's flashing and i need help :(
