    Hi all,

Just wanted to share with you how amazing these bags actually are. They have so much room for your accessories. So much room, in fact, that you will continue to find pockets in it after what you thought was a thorough once-over!

The actual housing for the notebook is made of Memory Foam (what Pakuma call their "cocoon system". I, myself, was recently treated to a memory foam mattress, and if I were a laptop I would LOVE being put away in a Pakuma bag. :)

Please check them out if you want to take the best care of your high performance notebook.

Here are the links to the two 15.4" notebook products they currently offer:

    http://www.pakuma.com/products/choroka_k2.htm

http://www.pakuma.com/products/choroka_k3lt.htm (I was torn between both colours in this product style, but decided to go with the blue. It is gorgeous. You get mesh pockets, zip pockets, velcro secured pockets, open pockets, pockets for pens, etc. The handle seems like it is made from a comfortable foam inside soft material. Very, very comfortable to carry. Now all I have to do is get my M15x!).

They also offer a Tote style bag for the 15.4", but as the majority of you here are males, I'm not sure this would be a popular choice for you! There are backpacks that fit up to 17" laptops, so you might wanna check those out too.

EDIT: I've comfortably fit a Zalman NC-1000 cooler in there, along with a G9 gaming mouse, leads, and a Razer eXactmat and the accompanying wrist rest for it. (Unsure if the NC-2000 cooler would fit, but there's a gap of an inch or two either side of the NC-1000 when it's in there).

The memory foam cocoon seperates your laptop from everything else, so it will always be protected, and it won't get scratched.

I love the one I have. It's made by Laurex.

One of the reasons I love it is the durrability and not to mention the style. It also has SEVERAL compartments for storing other things. For me it makes it ideal as a school bag. Which is what I'll be using it for mainly.

    http://laurex.com/gold.wave.case.htm

    Very stylish. The only gripe I have is getting used to the weight. That's completely my fault though u.u;

Edit: I paied retail with shipping off Ebay. Amazon wouldn't ship to Canada with that product. :<

Very stylish bag you have there, Tyrien. However, I don't think it looks to offer as much protection as the Pakuma bags. The cocoon really is like a snug sleeping bag. Memory foam is amazing stuff.

What pictures do you want specifically, Lineazy? I will try to take some and post them on here this evening.

soooo somehow, that, offers better protection than this?

just an FYI, a laptop in this case can survive a 10 foot fall onto CONCRETE. There's a complete video here.

Also, mine is engraved by Alienware (with ALX for some reason). heh. :)

i was talking more about the backpack which is what i would be interested in. The pics they have online seem like they have the backpack all the way puffed out like many pictures do but it might not look like that when you actually wear it unless you fill it to the brim. Im pretty sure u dont have the backpack so its ok.

No, but it does offer a considerable amount of security. It's not like I intend onf running with it, or smacking it into things. :p

It has a removable thick foam sleeve that quite a snug fit for the laptop. So it's not like you just throw it in o_O

Lol, Mystik. That is one hell of a case! I'm not sure I wanna walk around looking like MI5 though. That's just asking for trouble in the West Midlands. And people would steal the fillings from your teeth if you opened your mouth wide enough in the particular area I work in!

Plus, that laptop armour case doesn't look like it has half the amount of room for storage that the Pakumas have. Granted, it looks pretty important looking, but (a) I don't plan on dropping my laptop off a roof; and (b) I carry a lot of accessories around with me. :)

I just watched the video. I prefer the dark metal colour on the video, as opposed to the silver one. I'd just worry that one of our staff would accidentally pick up my case, as they look identical to the ones they carry their forensic equipment and DSLR cameras in. I will check these out though and see if I can find any close up pictures of the inside. Unless you have pics?

And what a clever selling point to have a seductive female scientist providing the commentary. I guess that sold you, huh? ;) At the start, it looked to me like she was in some kind of nightgown until she stood up and I could see that she was in a lab coat!

They work so hard, they just sleep there! :D

In my forensic class, my professor was talking about the year prior they had a guy hooked up to a lie detector test so the class could see how it works. The professor then called in his girlfriend to ask some questions...

Wow, those bags look impressive with regards to utility and padding.
I like that I would be able to carry all my laptop gear + my DSLR should I choose. I bet that all gets a bit heavy, though...
My only qualm other qualm besides bulkiness/weight is that they're completely asynchronous with my personal style, but I suppose a girl has to make sacrifices sometimes xD

I know what you mean about "girlish". But, since I am a girl, it doesn't really bother me; I'm kinda (almost) past that tomboy stage in my life. :)

However, the main selling point with me on these bags was the vast amount of storage spaces and the various pockets. Oh, and the snug memory foam laptop cocoon. :)

I'm sure it's not the last laptop bag I will own though. I'll probably buy something "trendy" if it catches my eye. But I'd be very, very cautious about what I would put my expensive Alienware into.

(Am up to having sold £1132.49 in just over 10 days on eBay now, and since my dad is kindly offering to put an amount of £1200 to that - paying him back of course - then it won't be long now until I can re-order an M15x)! :D

Gunsmith_Cat, I'm sure you'll agree it's fun walking into a store while wearing girly clothes and impressing people with your knowledge :D. Not that I've ever done that...*cough cough cough*

Also, getting a Pakuma would mean I'd have to order online, and I'd like to be able to just buy something in store. Obviously something being 'too girly' is not that much of a concern for me. :p I just need to find myself something good. I was thinking about just finding a new backpack and getting myself a sleeve. I think some computer stores around the city sell Crumplers.

I hope that these upload okay, but these are some pictures of my Pakuma bag showing just some of its storage potential. As you can see, a Zalman NC-1000 fits comfortably in there, along with a Razor Exactmat and wrist rest, and a load of flash drives and driver discs, etc. There's another picture showing the special cocoon system for your laptop (which is generally a cosy memory foam ridged section). I haven't got a laptop to go in the bag yet though! :(

i prefer bags without the harder nylon inside. i will not buy or use a bag without a nice soft material in it like fleece or corderouy or similar..my fave 15" bag is a solo messanger and i use a slappa for a backpack

Hey Cat, how heavy can you estimate it would be with all your miscellanea in there + your laptop?

I'm loving the utility of these bags but again my two qualms are how shiny they are (which is really a very minor thing), and how much of a stress it would put on my shoulders loaded down with laptop and cooler and maybe a mouse, etc.

Also, could anyone tell me how useful neoprene sleeves are? Or rather simply what the best compact type of protection is for a laptop (nothing like that crazy Bond-esque briefcase that Mystik carries around :p )

Hey Miho, I'll stick it on some scales to estimate the weight of everthing in there right now, and then you can add on the weight of the laptop. I think my bathroom scales measure in lbs and Stones though.

As for shoulder strain, the main reason I bought this bag was the carry handle option, as shoulder straps can bear down a bit and hurt after a while. You get a shoulder strap and a carry handle on this. The shinyness is a bit of a personal preference, and I might have liked it to be a different outer material, but it kinda adds to its racy look with it having twin 'go-faster' stripes and all. (I can easily picture this to be the bag that Mini Cooper drivers prefer! LOL).

Dunno about that bag in particular, but I know that Solo did manufacture a bag which CNET reviewed as their favorite laptop case/bag:

    http://reviews.cnet.com/4370-6459_7-274-101.html

so one might extrapolate that it should be a quality choice. I'd google around for reviews or something to check.

Miho... With my pakuma bag packed full of my stuff (including the Zalman cooler), it weighs approximately 4kg. I weighed it vertically - as you would wear it - so that it measured the downward force. I don't know how accurate my bathroom scales are (I hope they're accurate for my sake!) but that's the measurement I got anyway. Just add the laptop weight onto 4kg then. :)

Oooh yay, exiled's pics! Thanks for posting them.
Also, lol at your mountain dew.
I think that's what I'll keep my laptop in--whichever I get. That way, I can stick it in whatever other cute bag I have and it'll still be protected :]
