Looks like a lot of people want that kind of braggin right in the UK with their M15x lol, the X9000 is now on the delay list.
MUST convince people to not buy a X9000 with the M15x so when the M17x is out, there is less time waiting!![]()

i also just changed my order from T7800 to T9300. I was in Phase 5 when i called.
i was told 2-3 day delay but i just don't quite believe it.
Also waiting for an email confirmation on the change. and of course a credit to my card -
woah holy sh*t 26 March now.....
-
For what? Are you in the UK? I just customized one on the US page and the ETA is March 10th... for once none of the components have a delay associated with them.
-
in europe the due date is now 26th march. I think it's because of that fire at their warehouse
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=219286
not a big deal for me, I'm waiting for the black ripley design... -
Probably not because of that.
-
""so their main supplier (well Dell's) of lcd screens has suffered a fire""
AW didn't have a fire and it would have affected the US too if that was the case. -
Heh just upgraded my m15x in the UK fron T7500 to T9300 AND got a free messenger bag AND theyre sticking to my old ship date of March 10th
-
it's definitely already been said several times, but i just wanted to also report it..
was in phase 5 with the 2.4 ghz merom, had it switched to the 2.5 ghz penryn at no extra cost, and with an expected delay of at least 1-3 business days ... i also had the above information e-mailed to me by the alienware agent who put it all through for me. There was no need to explain anything except that i wanted to switch from the 2.4 to the 2.5 penryn at no extra cost since they are the same price. Call didn't take longer than 5 minutes (was on hold for 2 mins while she verified everything).
At first i wasn't too crazy about the added delay since i'm so close to my shipping date and everything was on schedule, but once i made the change i began to realize just how great the change will be.. I'm going to be using the laptop away from power plugs at least half the time, so strong battery life will be needed. Squeezing that extra hour out of it with the penryn will come in quite handy (on binarygfx and stealthmode, of course) and the reduced heat will be a plus because my last small 12.1 inch notebook suffered from hot handrests. Improved performance is just icing on an already delicious cake.
Besides, i have midterms for the next two weeks, i'm better off getting this gaming rig when they're all done with. -
maybe in US they have other supplies. -
Lite-On doesn't make laptop screens from what I know of.

I thought someone looked it up anyway and said it was Samsung? I mean LG. sorry.
-
Probably, but I think that incident is independent from Alienware's problems.
-
I hope there won't be problemas with future screens (I mean dead pixels or bad quality, leakage etc)
-
The lcd screens I have owned have never gotten a dead pixel
100th post!!!!!!!!!! wooot!!!!!!

Hey is the x9000 open to overclock like the x7900 was? Because I know you were able to clock the x7900 up to 3.4ghz.
-
No, everyone was pissed because Alienware disabled that feature in the bios. That took away the whole reason for getting the extreme edition...
-
Yeah but there are surefire ways around that feature. I want to know if the multiplier is open on the x9000 like it is in the x7900.
-
the laptop runs hot as it is (to the point where the touch buttons stop working).. if u want a core2extream and over clocking you should really get the much cooler sager NP5973 at its temps u could get alot more out of the over priced extreams
and yes the x9000 is unlocked can go to 3.3ish if in a cool case... unlocked multi is the basis of the hole marketing of the cpu. -
anyone try making a change while they were on Phase 7 and got denied? i called in the change just now for Penryn x9000 and the girl on the call was saying how i could get denied it because i was on phase 7 but i should call back tuesday for status.
-
Well, if you want the CPU (which is better than the X7900) then get it. I advise you to do it.
-
oh i did it, she put the order through, but says i have a chance of getting it denied 'cause i was on phase 7. just wondering if anyone made a change the same phase i did, she said my order will be delayed by 7 days if approved etc. etc.

Karuru- keep me informed if your laptop is just delayed 7 days and you get the x9000. I was told it was a month. I ordered it a month ago. I want to get on them if others are getting theres in a shorter leadtime.
Update: Just found out Im in Phase 7 with the Penryn. She said a few days more of testing it and it will ship. yessssss -
i got a confirmation email today confirming that the order has been changed, for the penryn cpu. in addition, the price is $20 cheaper.
now let's hope it goes through the phases smoothly, since the order is still in phase 2... lol -
Well the rep on the phone told me to wait until Tuesday hehe, so i'll update you tomorrow Maguai, and *crosses fingers*

Grrrr..... I ordered a 15x with the x7900 way back on Jan 24, missed two ship dates... I thought about calling to get the Penryn, but getting the system as soon as possible outweighed the impact of battery life for me. I do not plan on running on battery power very often, and heard that the T9000 was delayed until mid march. Hearing about someone who swapped processors to T9000 and being ahead on me in queue is maddening to me. I have been in phase 6 for a week now with a x7900.... raises my bloodpressure to hear of penryns going out the door in advance of me.......
... grrrr -
How long does it take to clear Phase 2 (Billing)? I've been at Phase 2, now, for a week. I'm using their financing, and they confirmed my identity last week. What else is there left to do?

i used their financing it cleared to phase 3 rather fast. It could be that maybe they didn't update the status site. hurrah for the x9000 being in stock!

I want to do 3dmark and cinebench.

I don't mind game
many other tests on game are already done! you must test even the gpu and find out you don't have problems! but I'm interested in the processor by now
Penryn now available!
