I just ordered my 1st Alienware laptop, and I not sure how long everything takes.. so here is my question.. I ordered my m9750 on Friday (Oct. 12th) and i'm still stuck in phase one after two days.. is that normal? I'm thinking it's because of the weekend? It's suppose to be here by the 29, hopefully it will be here sooner. I can't wait.
(and also I used a normal credit card not the Alienware card)

Remember that weekends are not counted as business days so you won't see any progress until Monday.
Congratulations on the system? May I ask what kind of specifications you got? -

Ok, thank you
. Thats what I was thinking. I keep checking though. I'm really impatient lol. But can you blame me? Its an amazing computer.

I also ordered my alienware laptop on a friday. Exactly a week before yours (Friday Oct, 5th). Was stuck on phase 2 until Wednesday because weekends dont count. After I cleared phase 2, they shipped out my laptop the next day.
Should be here tomorrow or tuesday!! -
theMONSTERisLOOSE Notebook Enthusiast
Wow, so it went from phase 2 to being shipped? Did you get any upgrades?
-
I ordered my laptop on Friday 12th as well, and am still waiting for this elusive 'security call'.
The est. order date was 45 days away because of the screen, so I'm not getting excited yet... -
theMONSTERisLOOSE Notebook Enthusiast
Woo! Finally, phase 2!
-
That will last you a LONG time, since you opted for 1440x1050 / (2) GTX. I'm sure that will be kicking for 4-5 years depending on what games come out when.
-
I've been in Phase 2 since October 2nd. You... may have a wait. =P

Mine went to phase 3 a few hours after it went to phase 2.. maybe you should call and ask why yours is taking so long?
-
I dunno what's going on, but if it's not in production by Friday, I'll cancel the order. =/ It'll be about three weeks then, and I'm startin' to get frustrated. It's just not moved from Phase 2, despite receiving an e-mail saying otherwise. I just sold my X205 and I'm sending it out tomorrow, so I'll be stuck on a tablet PC... which is the anti-christ for gaming, movies and music. -

That sucks. I wouldn't cancel it though.. even if it takes a little while its worth the wait, right? I think so at least. I hope everything works out for you.
Mine went to phase 5 today.. skipped 4. -
Especially given I just sold my X205, so I'll be in need of a new lappy, and ASAP!
-
I'm often curious about how many timely shipments AW gets out. That sucks to read about all your troubles because it seems waaay longer than it should. Mine took about 4 days to clear payment and then shipped in 48 hours. So the parts excuse seems like a bunch of BS. I found the best way to deal with problems with Alienware is to call their states side corporate office. The out sourced customer service just reads from a script and wont go out of their way to help it seems.
-
When I called them up last Friday they said it was due to a parts shortage. Ok, but why did it take two weeks to tell me this?
Meanwhile, I've already been charged for the laptop that, at this point, still does not exist. My Alienware Titanium account has a $2,000 charge, my Visa has another $1090.30 charge... and I'm generating interest on a laptop that's still a bunch a random parts.
>.>
Does anybody else see a problem with this? Given that I'm at an APO mailing ady, by the time I even get the laptop I'll have already generated a full month's interest at this rate. And that's *IF* the laptop even ships by then.
My original experience with Alienware was a lil' frustrating, but I loved my flawed M7700 with a passion, even if it may have shot flames out of the cooling vents if I even looked at it funny. But this is kind of making me wonder if I made the right decision. -
I'm at an APO too. Get ready for a month to ship. They send it by the slowest shipping method possible. Surface mail....*shivers* Yeah, you should call and talk to corporate and let them know how displeased you are. You shouldn't be paying for something you don't own yet. If all else fails tell them you are going to file a BBB claim.
