I know everyone tries to find whatever discount they can when placing orders for almost anything online. The shipping charges on Alienware's website seem a little out of whack. Is everyone really paying those high shipping charges when ordering? Is there a coupon for shipping others are using I don't know about? This only place I really feel AW is too expensive. Even Dell for the most part offers free shipping so maybe it's coming soon.

Yeah, I believe they are offering free shipping for somethings right now. I got like a $200 discount for military and no tax. :p

I can qualify for the student discount which is helpful but ground shipping should be in the $25-$30 range. I just had a 110lbs grill shipped to me for $14. This almost seems like an eBay scam. Even with their eBay items they only charge $40.

OK here's the free shipping code: GSFREESHIP

Unfortunately the site won't let me combine it with the student discount.

Too bad! But good luck for the purchase anyways.

I called them, and they told me that, they don't have student discount at all.

Trouble is, from my experience, that you can't combine discounts. They have a government purchase program/student program that can net you a 5% (I think) discount, or a free shipping option (above), or military members can purchase through AAFES (guess I should specify US military; I forget this is an international site sometimes... :) )

But only one... :) But I could be wrong... if I'm not, you'll just have to figure out which one saves you the most cash (probably the free shipping, I'd guess, bucause you're right, there is quite the shipping charge from alienware...)

I ordered through AAFES and I got free shipping, no tax, and almost an additional $100 off.

Also, somewhere on the Alienware site there is still the deal where you play this little game to get free shipping.

Sorry I couldn't find it today to provide a link, but I saw it like two days ago.

Yeah that's how you get the non-stackable GSFREESHIP code.

How much are the discounts worth to ya?

Do you have any U.S. military recruiters in your area? ;)

I'm sure there are but I don't know any and I'm too old and too much of a pansy to be one anyway.

It's not even the total cost that bothers me just the insane shipping cost. Both my XPS systems have sold on eBay so now I'm getting desperate to get something new. The 5% will cover the shipping costs so maybe I should just be happy with that.

Yeah, the shipping costs seem excessive.

Hi Mandrake, you are able to apply only one discount for each new system order (via US or UK Alienware). If you are ordering from the UK Alienware site, unfortunately you will not be able to apply a University or Military discount. Those are currently avaialble via AW US only. Sorry about that :frown:

Hope you have a good day!
