Planning on getting M15x...

After seeing the deal that M15x is offering now I decided to get one.

Three questions before I decide to place the order.

Is there any problems I should be aware of off the M15x, such as any issues?

Is the 9 cell battery worth the €90 upgrade, how long will it usually last with the normal 6 cell?

And what you guys think about the colours for M15x Nebula Red or Lunur Silver or Cosmic Black? Just want some opinions on this

Oh, you'll be getting yourself a great system if you buy one. I could post the usual...."well did you read all the forum posts" reply but I'm happy to help ;-)

There are some known issues with the M15x. Most notably the throttling issue. If loading an application to deal with it isn't an issue for you then there's nothing to worry about.

I've owned my M15x for about a month now, I check this sub-forum regularly for updated information and I've been more than happy with this laptop purchase. It's a beautiful, well constructed beast. I've owned many laptops and am very impressed with the quality. Pull the trigger!

Oh....in hindsight I wish I had bought the Nebula Red but am very happy with the Cosmic Black. It's flat black on a lot of the bezels which I like. I dunno, color is pretty subjective/personal preference type thing so just go with whatever grabs you the most.

Can't comment on battery 'cause mine is almost always plugged in.

 

Mine has been faultless since i bought it (about 6 weeks ago). I went for black as I use mine for work so the lights are always off and I want something more muted than the average gamer!

I didnt get the 9 cell as was worried about additional weight - havent used it that often without batteries but for normal work uses (not games) I get 1-2 hours on the 6 cell depending on what im doing.

The M15X is really a beat. It is by far the best laptop I have ever had.

There is currently only one issue which is the throttling issue. Note however, that there is a community fix for this, so I usually forget that it was there in the first place.

As for colors, I have the black one and am happy. I started a picture thread some time ago, so you can find it by searching for All powerfull Picture thread.

Finally, I am very happy with my 9 cell battery. I cannot compare it to the 6 cell battery, but Im able to squeze out almost 2 hours on battery. It depends really if you will need the laptop on battery, I actually use my laptop on the train, so I went with the bigger batt.

 

Just ordered at half 7. i7 720QM, GTX 260m and 4GB 1333mz. Went with Cosmic black and 9 cell battery

Now just waiting for the comfirmation email. I know its just been like and hour but how long does it usually take for them to email you?
