I am currently playing Mediaval2:TotalWar. When playing without stealth mode, the temperature of my 8800GTX was up to 88°C (on highest details).
By coincidence without knowing it I run the game in stealth mode and I did not realised any difference. The game was quick, details high. Only the highest temperature was around 70...
I dont know whether it makes sense?
Of course no problem, now I use stealth mode when playing Mediaval2![]()

What is stealth mode?

Medieval2 probably doesnt push the card much
So the downclocking does not affect it! That'd be my explanation at least!

Simon is right. Likely that game doesn't tax the GPU enough to notice the difference in Stealth mode. Running full-bore, you're probably getting pretty high frame rates (100+), and in Stealth, maybe it's like 45-60fps, and so will still seem pretty smooth.
Throw Crysis at it, though, and you'll definately notice the difference in Stealth mode. -
OMG. This is why there are so many happy users!

- this is so amazing, never expected a $4000 laptop to be this good!

Ahhhhhhhh.... Dhoang... You did notice crystak was being sarchastic, didn't you?
Well... If I'll play DoomI on the M15x, it can be burning that it will still play good. Now that I think of it, I could play doom I in my cell phone. -

I was playing Age of Conan and my FPS dropped from 20 at max settings to about 5 with stealth mode on. It took me a while to figure out why the drop in FPS to unplayable levels (I was about to turn down the graphics settings), when I saw my stealth mode light on.
If you could play the game with integrated graphics, you can play the game in stealth mode, but better.
