ok i got my own m17x 2 weeks ago much to my delight, and it seems to have been brilliant so far 0 complaints, that is except when i try to charge the battery.
no matter what i try it wont charge, it will use the battery and quickly when the ac adapter isnt plugged in, but will never charge the battery, ive tried looking through all the power options from the battery toolbar image with no success and ive tried looking through various forums but havent found an answer. the manual says to press fn+f2 which is a power charging toggle on/off option so to speak, but every option seems to do nothing, ive left it on the image of the full battery with "enabled" on, but the battery icon is still set on 'plugged in, not charging'. what am i doing wrong? i want to be able to occasionally use it without the ac charger how do i get it to auto charge the battery? ive never had this sort of problem before with devices refusing to charge >.>

try turning it off , removing the battery for a while and then put it back and turn the computer on

    yes turn off
    unplug
    take out battery
press power button for 20 sec
put back and see if that helps.

    100%, Bro! :D

It is called a "power drain" that can help releasing the static charge from hardware components.
