the base 6 core is already overkill for gaming, a high end quad core is all you need to future proof for several years.

It really doesn't matter. If you just gaming, basic windows 7 will work just fine.

dual 680's would be best. A 690 is a single card with 2 down clocked 680s inside. not as powerful as 2 normal 680's.

no game uses more than 4 gigs of ram currently. Its taken 20 years to get to that point. 16 gigs is actually very overkill unless you are doing animation work. 8-12 is fine for future proofing.

Hard drive is really up to you and what your needs are.

yeah you need that for wifi. Not sure why you would use it one a desktop though.

    read some reviews on amazon.

I have heard good things about the tactX keyboard.

The tactx mouse is just a rebrand of another mouse. I think a steelseries one. You might be better getting a razer/steelseries one.

The r5 wont come out months, not until the new intel processors and new gen of video cards come out.

Your welcome, but remember in future, this is a laptop forum, not a desktop forum.
