    Hi all

Just wanted to give you all a heads-up that AW is in damage control mode and may be trying to cheat their buyers.

I have been posting very useful (and honest!) info on numerous forums in an attempt to improve your computing lives, and have been persecuted by AW all along.

Today things reached critical mass with a huge number of posts on their FaceBook wall that were from very unhappy users. So many problems re: wrong configs, poor CS, etc., and the "team" seemed to be ignoring much of it.

I posted a few gentle "Failienware" comments and we all had a chuckle.

Well, maybe not all of us. Some new MOD going as -MO has deleted all my recent posts and is shaping the page to look all quiet and nice to fool potential buyers. They even blocked me from commenting on any aspect of their page now.

So now we have this forum as a final place to honestly discuss the corporate tactics of Dell/AW. PLEASE DO NOT CENSOR US HERE. EVEN IF DELL STARTS (CONTINUES?) TO PRESSURE YOU.

Thanks and good luck to AW owners both old and new. Your computers are supported by a crumbling, corrupt corporate system that refuses to take accountability for their failings because they always chase the almighty dollar.

    Truth.

Maybe they "censored" you because your just stiring up trouble?

Most alienware owners dont have problems, some do, and they seem to think that its a widespread problem.... its not.

Of all the alienwares I have, I have had 3 problems for dell to fix. A bad battery, a bad fan, and some side covers that were damaged during shipping.

BTW I don't think you have any of the culprit computers? There are specific models/revisions with many problems.

IIRC Malibal told me that AW is the #1 source of hatred for their new customers. They get many people jumping ship, but unfortunately the new Sager 15"ers apparently have their own problems :[ But at least you're dealing with domestic support in NV :]

And bear in mind that I love my m14x r2. I even rebuilt it recently. But I come from an IT and support background, and it's hard to ignore all the complaints across the Web.

Then you should know that no one is going to call IT to say "hey, just wanted to let you know, my computer runs great"

And I also know what is acceptable for a margin of error with "boutique (expensive)" hardware. I can do this all day ;]

Don't believe it. I've had no issues and they even helped me out and upgraded me when I asked (for free).

I've had nothing but an excellent overall experience with Alienware. I won't even consider purchasing another brand because the products and services have been profoundly superior to all of the other brands I have owned.

I don't know all the details of the circumstances, but I don't blame them for preventing you from posting whatever you felt like posting, especially if it was repeated posts with purely malicious intent. We have no place for that here, either. Private forums can be run in the manner the owners and moderators deem most fitting. It's not an "anything goes" medium or a platform to exercise unmetered speech. This Community is a place for Alienware enthusiasts, not a venue for haters to troll and spew their anti-Dell/Alienware venom.

If you have independently verifiable facts, data or other evidence of a specific problem that you would like to post that falls into compliance with forum rules, that would be fine. So far, I only see a rumor of an unspecified onerous issue has been posted. If not trolling, it seems a lot like it. So, thread closed until I see some critical information that consumers need to be aware of to avoid tragic circumstances. Feel free to send me the information or documentation of a serious issue to examine. I can re-open the thread if appropriate.

If you have a problem with the manner you were treated as an individual, the local Better Business Bureau is available to listen to your grievance. We don't have a any available forum space to devote to the self-edification of Dell-Bashers (or the haters of any other brand, for that matter). Sorry.

Edit: interesting that the_psychologist and digitalmo seem to have the exact same IP address and host. I wonder how many deleted posts there were from "very unhappy users" with the same IP address that needed to be cleaned up at the Dell Facebook page?

Wanted to clear up something. You were blocked by the FB main admin as you had just posted on 6 different posts with Failalienware. The community is fan based and folks are out there to help. Spamming the page with the same term over and over is not in line with the goal of the site or terms of use. I had the admin give you back your access. Please be clear, if you continue to post a spam like message over and over on the page the admin will remove you permanently.

We are not in the business of censoring. We leave up anything positive or negative as long as it is within the terms of use.
