Is it possible to connect an Xbox 360 to the M15x and play using the M15x's monitor? If so please tell me exactly which cables I need. Thanks.

even Heckendorn probably couldn't do it without adding some components to the m15x, seeing how there's no video-in (of any sort) on it. might be able to do it over expresscard tho...

You'd probably need something like this: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=32082&promoid=1001

OR a USB TV-Tuner (for which there are multitudes)...

The other option is to rip apart the m15x, hijack the connector cable to the display, and try to figure out which pin is which DVI connection, then, attach that to a Component video-to-DVI switcher, to get the HD signal from the 360...

of course, that would involve tearing apart the display panel and voiding your warranty.

Yepp. Thats why it won't work. Basically, since USB cannot transfer data very quickly, the XBOX signal has to travel through the USB and this creates a 1 - 2 second lag which might not sound bad on paper, but when your playing 360 just imagine hitting "A" and having it register 1 - 2 seconds later 0_0

that's actually a buffer so that the software can re-sync the audio/video... if you change the software you're using to render the stream, you can usually find a piece of software that will do it in realtime (or at least allow you to modify the buffer to be as-close-to realtime as possible).

it gets pretty advanced, but I was able to do this exact thing with my playstation wayyyyy back in the day.

the answer is pretty obvious , yes you can but you external devices, theese devices would work possibly, but they would be very costly , annoying. also they would display the lowest possible quality picutrre not even 480p because they will use composite cables, also there might be display issues, slowdown , lag etc. get a nice external dell monitor for all your devices, you can even connect the m15x to it, much better idea than an hdtv imo.....

No just buy a regular monitor. Here is how it works...

A regular monitor (a computer monitor) has video IN ports. The video in ports they have range from VGA, DVI, and HDMI, as well as component on the monitor I posted. A laptop connects directly with the LCD screen so there is no need for it to have video in ports. Laptops have Video out ports so you can connect them to a larger screen.

Basically just buy that screen I posted if you want a small cheap solution to play 360 on a good monitor. If you thought it would just be "cool" I tried it to at one point.

external monitors are connected to the system by a wire... something we in the industry commonly refer to as a "cable"... these cables carry all the necessary video data from the source (usually a computer) to the destination (usually a display)... with EXTERNAL monitors, these cables are seperate components, and can commonly be connected using simple and usually inexpensive adapters, to newer mainstream consoles and such.

However, with a device such as a laptop, the 'source' connection for the display adapter's cable is hidden inside of the device and cannot be accessed in a way that does not involve dismantling of the system.
