    Hi All,

Looking for some pointers on what is the best post factory system restore configuration.

i.e. system settings, page file setup, restore points on/off, drivers to use, common software install orders, any specific default installed software that is best removed, etc.

What i really i want my system to be a fast as possible. I've noticed recently that its slowing down, mind you i think its to do with the junk i have installed (itunes, office 2007, visual studio, etc).

Side issue, i have Cod4 installed and am noticing that on maps im getting between 35 and 60 frames (though it spikes much higher in confined spaces, etc) I also notice that when i shoot people i seem to miss target (even though its dead centre!), so possible lag issues aswell (can running with wireless lan and VX Revolution cause issues?)

Thanks for any input with this!

about your COD4 issue I had the same problem but mine was caused by my cpu downclocking.

Missing the target is a known bug in the game. Have you installed the latest patches yet??

    Hi all,

    COD4: latest 1.6 &1.7 patches installed.

You mentioned CPU Downclocking, how can i test for this during game play?

I have the x32 bios installed, that sort of solved the issues i was having with the keyboard, though that seems to be flaky at best.

Come to think about it my experience so far with this machine has been flaky at best.

    Ayeizajedi- There you go: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=248848

Follow that guide and you will be able to sort out whether you have downclocking or not (I am convinced you do).

Regarding your "flaky" experience... please post on the M15x World Survey. It would be good to have people that actually have had a chance to test the M15x throughly to post their comments there.

    Cheers,
    M.

Thanks milcs for the reply and the link, i'll perform those tests tonight and post my findings.

I've ran Orthos before and i didnt notice any down clocking, though i believe that was before i upgrade the BIOS, will see though.

I just cant believe that for £2100 i get a machine that is subpar build, that im scared to pick up in case the case cracks, my old skool 1.3 mp camera phone has better quality pictures that the inbuilt webcam, the list goes on and on... world survey requires my input, laters.

I know how you feel ayeizajedi... believe me.
Some other think that just as long as it can play games it's OK though and we shouldn't complain.
Anyway... I feel your frustration and I can only wish you good luck.

Let me know if you need any more help.
    Cheers,
    M.

Ayewzajedi... can you post on the CPU downclocking thread? (as well as your image?). That would be really helpful!
    Here it is: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=248848

Don't be sad... this is something that more than 90% of the owners with extreme processors experience. It's completely ridiculous that AW is not doing anything regarding this issue.

Well... post it on the CPU thread and let's think about doing something regarding this issue (because AW is not doing absolutely anything).
