Currently i own M15x and kinda feels like outdated plus rendering on After Effects takes a hell lot of time even for a 3 minute clip.

I am looking for a beast which can handle After effects, photoshop, gimp and my professional graphics work easily plus all kinds of hardcore games. Please help me chose. Budget is around 2700.

Alienware M14x (i don't think it have good graphics to handle latest and future games) & graphics work.

Upgrade your m15x with an XM processor and put a 7970 in it if you still want something portable, as the m17x/18x are better described as "moveable" than "portable".

Vahlen makes a good point, however the video card on the m14 is not that bad. If you need the best screen+the best video card then get the m18x. If you need a bit more portability get the m17x and if you want to keep the m15x then upgrade your GFX card and processor as Vahlen recommends. For any technical specification or pricing info from AW-DELL, you can send an e-mail to [email protected] with your request.

This statement is open for interpretation and very subjective. Not everyone shares that view, and it's OK to have a different opinion. I wound never consider compromising performance for something smaller and lighter.

I have been traveling extensively for years, and always with large high performance laptops (XPS M1730, M17x R2 and M18x). These beasts have all been an absolute pleasure to take everywhere I go. Yes, they are larger; but not any more difficult to manage than my anemic little Lenovo T420 ThinkPad that also follows me from coast-to-coast.

I'm using m14x with higher ground shuttle 2.1 bag , most portable bag combo open the zip and use your laptop. As powerful , m14x come with 900p so , its still powerful enough for most games , I can't name a game that m14x-r2 unable to handle it , Crysis 3 maybe? 14" with 900p not really that bad but 15"~18" laptop without 1080p might look bad somehow.

    1. Forget the M14x. It's a proper right joke for anything even remotely close to a high-end performer.
    2. If you can, upgrade your M15x.
    3. Else, opt for a 15" Clevo/Sager !
