I had a chat with an Nvidia employee and it seems Nvidia is finally acknowledging the powermizer DPC latency / audio stuttering issue.
They opened a post on their forums to get information on what hardware/software configuration the problem does appear. We must reply to this post in great numbers to send them the message that this is a widespread issue affecting a lot of users.

Update on my DPC latency issues:
This is my third M17X replacement, Dell came in and finally switched to the ATI cards which greatly reduced the stuttering. Yet, I still get frame rate dropping randomly in games to below 10FPS in WOW and Far Cry. Worse, even when I switch to low graphic settings meaning 800x600 with low settings on both games when the stuttering happens, I have about 7 to 8 FPS.
This is un-acceptable on a $4,400.00 system. I am tired of calling Dell for hours every time. I don't know what to do.
Facts:
- I've had my first system since July, the replacement since November.
- This is my third replacement.
- On my current one Dell changed the motherboard, the graphic cards and even upgraded me to the 4870's yet nothing still works.
- Of course all the basics stuff of trying different drivers, formatting the PC, fresh install have all been tried and retried.
I don't know what to do anymore. For the price of the system it is not acceptable and the truth is Dell needs to recall all those defective PC and replace them with the new Intel chipset.
The problem coming from the Nvidia chipset.
I got a new motherboard changed yesterday and yet still no improvement. I am tired. I am hopeless and I really don't know what to do anymore.
All the Dell reps on here just say call Dell and they will offer solutions but no. That is not true. I've been offered stupid and time wasting solutions for 6 months. Basically I paid $4,400.00 to Dell for nothing.
I now need a real solution which is an Intel motherboard. No more crappy nvidia stuff that will get fixed with stupid tweeks and brake again once the warranty is over.
What can I do? What can be done? -

Joe,
I understand you're frustrated and I was right there with you until the 4870's solved my issues...
This may be a stupid question, but have you checked to make sure that you are running the A03 bios? Just because you have a new board it doesn't guarantee that it was pre-flashed to the latest revision.
(Unless A03 is installed the ATI cards stutter like mad.)
One last thing to try is to uninstall the nvidia drivers (video and chipset) and the ATI drivers. After uninstall, boot into safe mode and run Driver Sweeper (free download from Guru3D.com site) to remove any remnants of all three drivers.
Then reboot and install the latest chipset driver from the Dell site, and the latest Dell Catalyst driver (Select M17xR2 as your model to download).
If that doesn't resolve the issue my best recommendation would be to call into Technical Support and ask to be transferred to 'escalations'.
Those steps with the card replacement resolved my issues so all I can recommend is what actually worked for me. -
Posting the link to NVIDIA's discussion thread is fine however let's keep the DPC Latency discussion to the thread we have in place. No reason to have multiple threads on this folks. Thanks.
