Talks about Dell selling defective optiplex desktops to corporate customers and then trying to cover it up. Their philosophy of buying the cheapest and lowest quality Chinese made junk is coming back to bite them in their butts: In Faulty-Computer Suit, Window to Dell Decline - Yahoo! Finance I've recently dealt with 4 M17x's that had one defect or another. Their QC is in major need of an overhaul. If they don't change their business practices yesterday, we might see Alienware go bye bye.

In my opinion, the board of directors needs to remove Michael Dell and bring in someone to turn around the Dell brand and change the company culture back to quality with great customer service. When the CEO of the company knowingly deceived retail and corporate customers, you will not regain their trust until there is a change in the leadership that conducted the defrauding of their customers.

I do business in China and asked my supplier what brand of laptop they recommended. I figured why not ask them as they are all made over there at one point or another. They told me Asus was very popular in China and that Dell didn't have a good reputation and was considered low end in China. They flat out told me not to buy a Dell laptop. To be fair to Alienware the average person in China is probably buying a $200 laptop so not fair to compare to a $4000 Aliewnare. Have always had good experience with Dell but I always buy their better products.

Im glad im not the only one who read this article today. Im starting to phone alienware now for my laptop. Im sure it cant be all that bad.... right?

That said just being on this forum for a month ive heard of : Xfire cables being faulty or not working, drivers not working, refurbed systems being sold, and so on and so on. I really want an m17x , alot ... But this makes it harder to pull the trigger now
