Hi guys, since "It's Crysis time" i don't currently have the money to pull the trigger to buy my new notebook.
And I'm constantly looking at M17.

    And costantly monitoring the price.

    Now, the story is:

On Alienware.it (which redirect you to alienware.co.uk but priced in euro) after an initial drop of about 80 euros on basic config, now it has been growing since 20tn nov.. and now is 40 euro more than on 20/11 in only 4 days...

    Someone can explain me why?
Initially I thought it was pound change vs dollar, but it is said that Alienware is based in Ireland and the price are initially quoted in euro and then changed.

Any clue? Is euro vs dollar? or the prices of the various component that are fluctuating?

I experienced the same thing when I was ordering mym15x last July from alienware.co.uk. It seems that prices fluctuate mostly every day. I just waited till price was lowest before I puchased it.

The exchange rates do impact the prices. So definitely you'd want to monitor the FX markets before you shell out cash ...

So the exchange rate to check is dollar/euro?

    No, Sterling/Euro.

They set their prices in Sterling (note the round figures ie £999, £1049 etc) and then depending on what country you select, a currency conversion (plus tax adjustment if applicable) is done.

So you will get best value when Sterling is low against the Euro. Its is very low right now, but has risen a little in these past days/week

Ok, then i'm going to benchmark the two prices and see how to get the best deal.

    Go Euro Go! :-D

    Checked.
Prices are fluctuating everyday for 1 week now.
    Today is the lowest.
But they change both in euro and in pounds. So it's not merely a currency matter (not euro/pounds, at least).
    Not sure about dollar/euro/pound though.

So, my hint is, check the price before buying.

My identical setup today costs roughly $200 more than when I ordered it a couple weeks ago. Canada.
