    Hey fellas whatsup?

JUst having a little trouble I think. As you can see my cpu core 3 is at a higher percentage than the others.

I suck with knowing what to do, so I have come here to see your professional opinion.

The reason I believe something is wrong is bc I try to play bfbc2 and with all the settings on High, the fps is fine...but the thing is there are places in the game that "flash on and on."

I believe it is the Shadow Quality, but if I try and set shadows to low, the game locks up in a black screen.

Thanks 4 ur help in advance. :)

I would start by checking to see if you have any unneccesary services running in the background that are taking up your CPU cycles. Go to the Start Menu, type "services" and it should bring up a Services panel. Then you can look to see what is starting up that doesn't need to be. Things like Adobe, and you can set them to "Manual" by right clicking them and going to "Properties" If you go through the list, there should be some obvious ones that are running upon start up that don't need to be.

You can also enter the task manager and look at the processes. Some may fluctuate thier "CPU" usage. Any that are running that don't need to be can be removed from the list of start up programs. Do do so, go into the "start" menu and type "msconfig" There should be a start up panel. Look through there and uncheck any start up apps that you don't need to run at start up, things like quick time, itunes helper ect.

Hopefully doing this can cut down on your idle cpu usage and give a better gaming experience. Another good program is "Process Explorer" This will tell you the processes that are running and thier CPU usage. It can help in identifing what exactly is using your CPU. From there you can disable what you think can be disabled in the "services" panel. Hopefully this helps.

Another idea is to disable the "SD Host adapters" driver in the device manager. This is the card reader driver, and from computers in the past, I've seen it tends to use the CPU when its not neccessary. Might worth a shot. I have a feeling it may be the cause. I think the driver will automatically re-enable itself when an SD card is inserted.

I've read somewhere in the steam forums that this is common with bad company 2 , it always uses 1 core more than the others , they said that it was for sound effects
