Hello, I recently bought a new Alienware M15X with Windows Vista Home Premium. When I tried burning a disc, I got error message 2131. I think it has something to do with my CD/DVD driver. My drive is TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L632N ATA Device. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

how is burning discs without itunes for you?
-
firstly look here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=224475
this is a link to dell support that has a fix for the error 2131
i suppose its ok to link to a dell site as AW is its sister company.

this will fix:- Fixed the iTunes issue with "The attempt to burn a disc failed. An unknown error occurred (2131) when you tried to burn playlist to disc for blank CD-R media.
- Fixed the region code error for DVD movie playback. -

Most of the time when try to burn a disc using iTunes I get this message
"The attempt to burn a disc failed. An unknown error occurred (2131)."
I am using a Area-51 m9750 with an TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L632N ATA Device.
I have checked for updated drivers (I have the most update verson)
I have installed the latest version on iTunes (version 7.6.2.9)
I have have done some web searching and most problems are from mix manufactures and devices. Thus the fixes are very mixed too.
One fix that does work is using CD-RW. I can get it to work using Imation CR-RW only. Which really suck since I spent the money on the LightScribe burn and none of the disc work.
So this a fix like putting a spare tire on a car; it will get you there, but it is not for driving around.
Does anyone have a REAL fix for this? -

Good morning to all. I have the same issue with only CD (not DVD) and only when using Itunes. I have found the driver TS-L632N_SC03 but was unable to install it ... Not compatible ?!?!
Could someone help me ? Thanks

There's a huge support thread on this over at Apple's site, since this appears to not be an AW-only problem (also impacting Dells and Toshibas with the same drives)

Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a conclusive fix. There is one updated Dell driver, but it appears to only apply to the TS-L632H, not TS-L632N. There is, however, another toshiba driver which seems to be more *general* so if you want to take a chance, you could try that. -
