ok I bought this M17x back in september and have been loving it. The problems started when I put 4 gigs of ram in it. I bought it from the PX on post here so I don't think its brand name. I keep getting the nvlddmkm error with the 4 gigs of ram and not with the original 2 in vista 32 and 64. The ram has the correct settings and has no errors as far as I know (tested overnight with memtest). could it be that the mobo just doesn't like the brand?

Ram from the PX may be crucial, not sure though. I would find out what kind it is and that would help more with finding your problem. it could also be a problem with the set you have. So maybe returning it and trying another set would help

well its a set of centon memory. I would take it back but its been almost 2 months. I just went through RMAing the 8800s because alienware thought it was a problem with the graphics cards.
