I am having a bit of trouble on my about 2 week old M15x. The first is the battery doesn't seem to want to pop out. I am using what I believe is reasonable force to push the latch but it gets caught halfway and won't budge any further.

The second issue which I believe is a greater issue is after I shut down the laptop, it won't boot back up. I push the power button, the keyboard and speakers light up, the fans turn on momentarily, and the cd drive runs. The screen will not turn on or the alienheads won't light up.

    Hi XenoPhoenix,
Due to the way the laptops are manufactured, the batteries don't always sit as clean as they should. When you push the latch, is there enough of a gap to pull the battery out?? Some of the latches fasten so tightly that you have to eject the battery a few times to losen it up.
Also, the issue you're describing with the screen may be directly related to memory. If you are able to get the latop to turn on fully, I would recommend booting to your resource cd and running the custom diagnostic specially on the memory, motherboard, and video card. If all check out ok, I would recommend removing a stick of memory and running the laptop for a while to determine if the issue clears.
In rare cases they LCD could have a faulty back light. Is there a ghosted image on the screen if you angle it in the light?

    Thanks,
    Gabe
