Hi, well basically it's been working great and all but starting this morning I'm having a pretty serious problem. Whenever I boot up my laptop I am taken to the "Startup Repair" thing for Windows 7. It just hangs there and doesn't do anything. I tried reverting to a previous time and it is still doing it. Any suggestions?

I installed a few new programs ( which I uninstalled afterwards ). I tried system restore as I said in my original post ( at least, I think I did it correctly ). No luck.

Pretty sure an in place upgrade would keep your data safe, however I advice you get at aleast a USB stick and always back-up, you never know what's in store for you during an upgrade.
