    Hey guys,

I've been trying to install version 3 of E-wrecked's brilliantly modified drivers to my (dual 3870) M17 running Windows 7 64 bit with no luck!

What ends up happening is I uninstall the drivers for the cards, then I reset and try and get into safe mode, but that doesn't seem to want to work (f8 doesn't work, any one else know how to get in?).

Moving on, when I boot back into windows it automatically re-installs the drivers for the graphics card. So I uninstall them again, run drive sweeper, and then run the ATI catalyst install thing provided by e-wrecked and it installs fine. I am not prompted to reset but do so any way and... The drivers weren't installed. Windows takes the liberty of putting on the drivers it can find from ATI, but they suck and have no scaling and for me run poorly in games.

As you can imagine this is rather frustrating and annoying. Can any one walk my defeated, computer-illiterate arse through this basic installation in Windows 7?

    Thanks,

ATI Catalyst Display Driver 9.5 for Windows 7 Mobility is here: http://depositfiles.com/files/rb3kdsq3n

    1. Download and unrar it.

    2. Install the Driver by Disk method, described here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=364393
    Locate file: 9-5_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF\C7_80269.inf

    3. Run setup.exe and install Catalyst Control Center 9.5

This Driver was tested and it works fine with Windows 7 RC1 7100. Good Luck!

Updated for VISTA and Windows7 32 and 64 bit:

Now there is no necessity to use Disk method, all you need to run setup.exe

Actually, those 9.5 ones dont scale so you get a black border around anything not at native res.. its really ugly.. so use the e-wreckeds 8.12.. theyre the best ones for win7 and they scale.. i used em and they worked great.
Just uninstal the old drivers, do a clean sweep with driver sweeper, reboot, uninstal those the windows installs, use driver sweeper again and than instal e-wreckeds.

Yep. All fixed. Used the have disk method. Wasn't completely easy, had to trick it to work for some reason, but that's a long story.

    Hi

    Have you tried this one?

    http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx

    I have it on my m17 with Windows 7 RC1 64bit and it's great!

You need no Modding, just DL and install.

But as I read you solved your problems may be you should stay with 9.5^^

    Greetings
    Julian
