I am having problems with my M15X, specifically the display driver. This only happens when I am playing World of Warcraft. The first problem occurs and the screen goes dark but then comes back saying that their was a problem with the video driver but it recovered. Then maybe an hour or two later a total BSOD occurs and it goes into that dump files mode, saying that the display driver caused the crash.

I have checked my drivers and according to the "my hive" on Alienware's web site it is the most up to date driver (156.55 for Vista) for my video card which is the Nvidia 8700M (512).

I am on my other computer now looking at the explanation of the BSOD on my M15X. It says that the problem was caused by Nvidia Graphics Driver, and that there is no solution for the problem at this time.

Anyone else experiencing this? Can anyone help me?

    Thanks.

try getting a newer driver from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ just down load the modified .inf and install using the have disc method. The dox drivers are also good, or the Nvidia notebook drivers are good as well.

    A 156 driver? Wow.

Just go to Nvidia.com and download 179.48

The drivers at the A.W. site are very old. You really should consider using the newest drivers directly from Nvidia or laptopvideo2go.

Be sure to uninstall the old driver, use driver sweeper (free) to remove all traces of the old drivers, then install your new abd current drivers.

You should be good to go.
