So after installing Win7 immediately i was able to connect to the internet using my Wireless however after updating the drivers (chipset, networking, command center) I cannot connect using Wireless, Alienware has no clue how to fix this and been jumping around on hold for 3 hours......
I'm actually able to see the access points but cant connect to any of them (tried nearby access points too)
Any ideas?

ok im having this same issue, alittle different view on my end, i noticed the problems with the wireless starting after installing the nvidia drivers. for me what happens is that ill reboot, see networks but never be able to connect to any, in a short time them i wont even be able to see any. i have tried repairing, using the wireless on off button, uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling. the only thing i have had work is to uninstall the drivers then reboot, it will install the drivers when you log in and then it will work untill you reboot and then it goes back to the same issue.
this is really starting to annoy me cause every laptop i have had has had wireless problems in one way or another. if anyone can help that would be great, i have even ran a system restore back to before i installed the nvidia drivers that batboy reccomended in the drivers thread and i still have the same issues.
thanks

Yeah I dont know what the issue is... what I did to fix it is restore to the first check point (fresh install)
Then I installed vid drivers
Rebooted and created a restore point
Installed Chipset drivers and unchecked the Ethernet option (just in case)
rebooted and created a checkpoint after testing wireless
then i went through all the drivers and installed all of them and my wirelless works.
I suspect it could either be the Ethernet option or a random event.... now I'm not sure what functionality I lost when I uncehcked the ethernet option... still looking into that.
One thing I did is installed different vid drivers I found here:

Hope this helps...... -

Same problem here. I, for now, solved it by making my network public (but secure and cripted) all the other times i formated i choose home network and had no connection. nomather what driver i used
Edit: Not working.
Had connection for a few hours then it stopped again. No mather what driver I install nothing works. Gona format again -
Back on the M17x
I uninstalled all the Nvidia drivers and had connection straight away. So it's probably there the problem. Gona install them again one by one and keep you peeps posted. -
Found a solution to this problem:
Uninstall all Ricoh card reader related software! Works all the time. Tried different software though, none of them works. Your best chance is to install the software, then disable MMC and MS ATA devices.
Hope it helps! -
well i just did a system restore yesterday and then got back to my original problem of my screen resolution reseting to 800x600 each boot, now i just have a short black screen on the logon screen which even tho its annoying its not as bad as the screen resolution going so low. so i installed the command center and the osd fix. then i went and installed the video drivers, havent touched anything else yet cause i wanted a fully working computer for raid night, might try updating a few other things today but i did try uninstalling the ricoh software from programs and features and it didnt effect it but maybe i didnt wait long enough

When I uninstall the Ricoh software, I just need to reboot the computer and the WLAN is working again.
