Ok so heres the story. About in December my alienware started going nuts. Its not even 2 years old, and the screen went crazy.

So I took it to my local computer repair to see what the problem was, cause of the free estimate. They told me it was the graphics card and that they could fix it for 400. I said hell no, and bought one of ebay for 80. Today it came in the mail, i swapped it, and the screen was still a little missed up (very fine lines going down randoms parts of the screen), and I noticed my fan wasnt working. Anyone have any ideas one what can be wrong? My comp shut off after 10 min cause it got so hot.

    Thanks

you prolly bumped the fan when swaping the cards out. and the fine lines could be your screen screwed up but try re plugging in the fan and re seating the graphics card

hummmmsss well not hard to figure that one out :D then you need a new fan unless the pins are bent ....but thats that and the graphics card deal ..im at a loss(does the screen still mostly work?

well when the graphics card first broke it was like the picture i provided. now that i got the new one in, its 10 times better, i can see everything and stuff, its just there are some lines on the screen so its not perfect.

Have you tried plugging into an external monitor yet? Does the problem still persist there?
