Hey there fellow NBR Forum inhabitants, I'm having a few problems with my Alienware m17x and I was wondering if you could help.

    1. My Stealth Mode doesn't seem to be working. I only get about an hour and fifteen minutes from this beast when running on battery (non-stealth mode). It seems not to make a difference with it on either - it doesn't lower brightness, it doesn't turn off a GPU or *seems* not to downclock the CPU, and it doesn't provide me with any more batter life. Anyone?

    2. I haven't installed any new BIOS' since I received the computer in mid-September. I have been searching the support website for some but to no avail. Anyone have any information on this?

    3. Also, I'm still having that keyboard problem that everyone has been complaining about. Every 100th or so letter that I type doesn't "show up". I thought Alienware was working on a remedy. Is there some driver I need to update.

    4. Last but not least, I heard there was an update for AlienFX and/or Alien Fusion Power Optimizer. It's supposed to add face recognition or something. I found a link to the m15x driver download but not the m17x.

    5. Having some problems installing Adobe CS4 Master Collection - It shows a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) about two minutes into the installation. Anyone else have this problem. Anyone here have CS4 Master successfully installed on their m17x? The BSOD refers to windrvnt.com as the problem.

Thank you so much in advance...I've been kinda lost here with these problems. Thank you so much.

Im sorry to hear about your problems...Sometimes there is nothing more frustrating...

I bought my m15x in march! and yet to have update the bios...
I would definatly go about updating things like that and also your drivers...The drivers may help with the keyboard and what not...

The BIOS may help with your stealth mode problem...

As far as CS4, "windrvnt.com" is a windows hardware controller driver...

Sometimes people recommend to reformat but before you do that, try downloading it... i know it is downloadable but i cannot find it yet...when i do i will post it

There is also a issuee similar to this in the adobe forums here

No, he doesn't have to send it back to update command center/drivers, flash the BIOS, and install Adobe CS4. He can do it on his own with our help *Hopefully*.

Silent, I really didn't hear of a BIOS update for the m17x. I signed in to My Hive (I'm a previous m17x owner :D) and checked under "AREA-51 M17X 17" WUXGA W/CAM BLK-RIP-PNT R1" (that's where it should be) but there was nothing there. About Command Center, I believe it should tell you that there is an update once you open it. If not, you can download the m15x's Command Center and then download the " Alienware Command Center m17x system identification". This will fix the issue when your m17x is detected as the m15x.

I fixed my Adobe CS4 problem...stupid application called FolderLocker was inhibiting it from installing correctly. As for the Stealth Mode I'm still in the dust. Also, I think command center recognizes my system as a m17x, so why should I use the system identification to help me?
