I've been having some issues lately with my m5500. It is almost 3 and a half years old. I don't know if it is old age or operator idiocy.

It is supposed to go into standby mode when the lid is closed. It does not. It remains running and I don't even think the screen ever goes off.

Also, it hangs up when I go to shut it down. I get the "Windows is Shutting Down" message or something similiar and it stays there for more than three minutes. THe only way to turn my computer off is to disconnect the power cord and battery.

    Any ideas?

    Thank You
