Hi, I'm ordering my alienware right now and I have a question, I signed up for an alienware university account, I did the form and got an email on my university email but how do I apply this discount? What do I do?

That's what I did but I do not see any difference in price when ordering the m17x.

Dell has free live chat in their customer support section I'd ask them. If it's a mailing list usualy those things send you promotion cores you apply at the checkout section in your order.

Yeah and the dell discount is 7% instead of the alienware 5%. I had to give them a call so they applied the discount. I HIGHLY suggested anyone looking to get this discount give them a call.

Which one did you decide to go with the M17x or the M15x?

I went ahead and got the m17x, I got a somewhat basic system, the QX9000 quad core processor, 4gb of ram and the single 260m, I'll update it as I go by. =]

The reason I decided to go with the m17x is simply because my old m17 worked great, and it still does. The only problem with it is the fact that the power sometimes messes up but that's my fault ( wore out the siding to which the power cord connects to ). Other than that it's always worked fine, plus it's very expandable if I were to need to upgrade it in the future. On top of that, the previous m15x has had some very serious problems, plus the benchmarks weren't great. So yeah, m17x for me. xP ( I should get it by 11/10/2009 )
