Simple answer - no.
What they are coming out with is obviously the next new thing. The question is "when". -

Latest BIOS update adds support for Arrandale processors so except model options with those and the ability to use them instead. It may alleviate the power issue (which really isn't an issue in the here and now).

I didnt ask about Arrandale, nor did I really understand your answer. My Q is: Are the i7 chips in the article the same that M15X currently uses or are those chips a newer version of mobile i7's
-
Since that article says they are previewing, in Dec, future i7 processors, I would say no, they are not currently in the shipping M15x, nor are they in mine, which was ordered in Oct and delivered in Nov (since the chips in the article weren't even previewed until Dec 09).

ok cool. thats what i thought... Also thought maybe theres a slight chance that alienware and hp got them exclusively and now they are previewing them, yea but that wouldnt make any sense...
Thank You for ur answers everyone -
Actually, you sort of did. Apart from the i3 and i5 processors they mention in the 4th paragraph (which are new desktop processors), the rest of the article is about Arrandale, which runs the i3, i5, and i7 gamut. Oh, and there's that mention of Pine Trail Atom, at the end, but that's not related to i7.
Currently, the only mobile i7 family is Clarksfield, and that's what the M15x uses. Arrandale is the upcoming addition to the mobile i7 family, and as the new BIOS suggests, we will probably be seeing Arrandale chips in the M15x in the (relatively) near future.
