    Hey,

I was wondering (hopefully this isn't a common question I didnt see any recent threads. But when you ordered your M15X what was the build time you waited from dell? My computer now is such crap. I really want to get a chance to play in the starcraft beta on this laptop before it expires at the end of the month! Dell is quoting on their website June 7th but they also said March 27th for my laptop bag and I already have received it from them.

Naturalx - It really depends on current demand and parts. If there are shortages from supplying countries such as Taiwan or Singapore then ship date may be impacted. I believe the m15x just released the 5850 so I bet the ordering activity has increased as well. You are welcome to call and get updates but I wouldnt push too hard on the ship date. If they can they will ship early. I dont work for them or anything. Best bet is to call during the day and speak to a rep for a more accurate ship date. Trust me, in most cases they will try to ship out as quickly as possible. I also think (and this has been mentioned before) that machines with deep discounts usually get shipped behind those who paid full price, but again this is speculation... not proven fact.

Hope you get your Alienware quickly!

    BW,

    StevenX

I've heard people say five days, sometimes two weeks. It's like what steven said, if they're busy and low on parts, it takes longer.

I think they gave me a 10-14 day estimated ship date and I ended up getting my m17x a few days before their estimate.

I was getting nervous because I kept reading about other people taking months last summer (2009) to get theirs.

Yeah Definitely. I was mainly just curious what most people had to wait for theirs is all. Out of all the message boards i`ve seen it was never something all that widely talked about. I managed to get my case in two days. What a tease...

"In production" includes building and boxing. Boxing includes boxing just the laptop at the assembly facility, then shipping to the US. Assuming you are in the US. Then final boxing is done. It is then officially "shipped" from there.
