I only have 1 GTX 260m , and Im wondering what are the pros and cons about turning off hybrid mode and integrated graphics. Also I see that if integrated graphics are on, that graphic card has a higher temperature than my gtx 260m.
I appreciate the help!!![]()

The integrated is your Chipset for your mobo so it will be hotter since it processes ALL information in your system.
integratedsave battery
The 260 uses more power and is worse for using on battery
no hybrid SLI usually has better performance
hybrid allows to switch between cards to save battery power( that is really it ) -
hmm so if i run off my power adapter, then i would want to turn off those options i guess? For the chipset, what is the usual temp i should see and what is the danger zone
-
your temps on the chipset are fine
if they weren't your computer would shut off
If you want to run on AC adapter only then i would say just run off your 260 -

I suggest leaving the settings at default; Hybrid Power mode will switch between GPUs as needed.

i've had some trouble .... -
Can you turn hybrid mode on/off in the OS?

Hi Judas543,
I would just leave the hybrid SLI on (if it's on by default). The integrated graphic card doesn't hardly use much resources, and it's more benefitial in some cases. Also, this notebook is more than capable of handling the heat. I wouldn't worry about a few degrees extra.
Edit: Hi 4st3risk, hybrid is only available in the BIOS. It's not something you can toggle in the the video driver.
Thanks,

with hybrid in the OS enable you will have a choice between just the 9400m or 9400m and your 260/280m GTX in SLI
the 9400m alone will save you alot of battery -
We may not even have this option in Windows 7 according to many that have said MS will not support it and if you notice in the bios they speak only of vista like its a short lived thing . But we shall see in time as they say.
Question about graphics??
