I was hoping one of the gurus on this board could give me some advice. Dell is replacing my M17X R1 because I had a few problems with it. The rep in the resolution center told me that he will send me a refurbished model within a few days that is either equal or better in specs. I am really not pushing to get a R2 yet but I am kind of weary of receiving a refurbished computer. I'm pretty sure it's probably going to be a computer that someone else returned before. Is this acceptable or should I try to push for more? I noticed that when I configure the M17x R1 on their website, the 1920 x 1200 is not a option anymore although that is the screen that I have on my laptop. I really don't have any experience dealing with refurbished dell products so I was hoping someone here could help me out. Thanks in advance.

This has to be discussed with the rep you spoke with. If you are unhappy with the replacement conditions you can request to speak with the rep's supervisor. If speaking with the supervisor still does not alleviate your concerns you can escalate the case via the web escalations team. Give the rep a chance of course. I have found through my own dealings with Dell's support team they are willing to assist you and will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy - just be polite and explain how you feel.
