Question regarding nameplate

Just want to ask if there's a difference between the size of the nameplate for the different AW models. ( m15x, m17x and M17x )

I was thinking of transferring my m15x's nameplate to another model in the future should I upgrade Since Alienware laptops being sold here in Asia don't have the personalized nameplate as an option.

 

Magandang gabi, my kaibigan. I don't know if they are the same, but here in the US, Dell has not been all too keen about actually personalizing the nameplates when we requested them. Several of us had requested personalization and didn't get it. So, I would hold on to yours, and hopefully it will fit on your future AW machine.

 

i have been trying to get mine for the past week but i cant get pass the idians on the phone they are messing me around putting me onto another idian that pretends to be another reception.

I must have rung them 45 times now in 4 days but i cant get pass the idians on the phone to get my personalized name plate fixed.

 

Oh, I didn't expect orders from the US to have problems with the nameplates. I did order mine last year from the UK/international site. Since now that they are selling AW Worldwide, I will be purchasing from either Taiwan or China should I upgrade in the future.

 

When i ordered mine back in June i requested a custom nameplate, system came with m17x, not a big enough deal for me to try and get a new one though.

 

It's weird how all our M17x are made in China , same factory in Xiamen. And US gets customized while the most of other countries don't.

I'm sure the nameplate etching machine isn't THAT busy printing out customized plates 24-7.

 

If anyone does have the nameplate for the m17x, could you please measure and post the dimensions of it?

 

It's pretty small... Maybe 3" x 2"

It's most likely the same exact nameplate.

 

Ha! Based on the number of people, including myself, who ordered customized nameplates but never got them, I don't think they are that busy at all!

 

i took mine to a local shoe shop that used computer engraving to etch my name onto it.
looks sweet

 

I called customer service about my name plate last monday. The rep said I would have my new name plate in about 5 buisness days, hopfully I will see it early this week. Tryed to talk them into a graphics card upgrade for my trouble.She just offered to transfer me to sales.

 

HAHAHHA, pure win. I went through a similar experience. The key is to threaten to return your laptop and then you got someone who can actually do something.
