I would first like to say i am a total IDIOT when it comes to PC, i have limited knowledge, i know how to do some basic stuff around the control panels n thats about it lol. infact i don't think i have ever opened up a PC before, so thats my PC history...

anyways, I am considering of buying a M17x either today or tomorrow but i have some questions regarding which specs to choose. I tried to ask the guy from dell over the phone but he seems less clueless then me. Infact by talking to him, he made me want to buy a Alienware less....

    ok so here i go,

The first question , is a two part question, Which of this two CPU would offer most bang for buck in terms of performance during gaming.
    The "Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9600 (2.8GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 6MB Cache" Or the "Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q9000 (2GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 6MB Cache)"

Also, if i choose to overclock the CPU which one is better designed to handle OC.

The second question: 64 bite windows 7 can read the full 4 gig of ram now right? because my desktop vista can only read 3.25 gigs. If so, is the 4 gig 1333 mhz ram enough? or should i upgrade to 6 gigs, which would cost a massive 550 AUD to upgrade = /

    Third question,
Which harddrive configuration should i select.
    Raid 0 Performance
    500GB 7200RPM SATA RAID 0 (2 x 250GB) [Included in Price]
    OR
    + Raid 1 Protection
    250GB 7200RPM SATA RAID 1 (2 x 250GB) add $0.00

Like i have no idea what is Raid 1 and Raid 0 at ALL.

    3) There is a configuration where u "Choose your own Avater" The describtion said "Note: Choose a graphic that reflects your personal style. Please note that all avatars will be made available to you on your system."
What is this avater they are talking about? where does it appear on the laptop?

    4) How good is the quailty of Alienware products? i have never owned one before but i search the net and its kinda filled with complaints and terrible customer service so thats got me kinda worried.

    5) Well this is the set up i am looking at, can anyone suggest anything that i might need to change?

THE TOTAL COST IS $3,857.301 AUD( Australian Dollars, which in exchange into USD would be every dollar for 90 cents US

Holy crap the Laptops in US is so much cheaper and have better specs then the ones down in Australia, only 300 bucks to add a extra ATI HD 4870 in a laptop.... In the Aurora ALX desktop to add a extra 4870 would cost you 500 AUD.

. Australia u ing suck when it comes to tech
