As you will see in reading thru the post's both are nice but the m14x will do the better job for your games. ;) The m11x is more for on the go and still be able to game. If you have the money the m17 will do a full gaming job for you but is a lot more money. I have the m11x and have ordered the m14x not because of heat or it can't play games well it can. But because the screen is just to small and I want a little more desktop. Enjoy which ever you decide.

Check the outlet out for a m14x. I think they have a 15% off coupon which would bring the price down close to a new m11x.

Civ and Starcraft will be much more enjoyable on a 14in (900p) screen.

I only had the m11x for a short time but from what I remember the fan noise is less intense than the m14x. When playing games the m14x fan is loud, when just doing basic task or streaming videos its silent.

I ran plenty of stress test on my m14x and the heat was within normal range. It runs hotter than the larger m15x or m17x due to only having one fan for cooling over two.

The m11x is really a secondary based machine IMO. No way could I use it as my only rig.

I play a lot of Assassin's Creed on my m11x, and I only occasionally experience dips below 30 fps. If you want to ensure smooth frame rates, I would go with a m14x, especially if it's going to be your only computer.

Speaking for the m11x side, it is very noisy under load, but I tend to game with headphones when on the laptop, so I don't really notice it. In regards to heat, I haven't had any issues at all, runs quite cool in my opinion actually.

The M11x R3 and M14x don't have widespread overheating issues. From what I read, occasionally someone will have an issue but it's definitely not common. I don't have experience with the M14x or M11x R3, but reviews and user comments have mentioned that the fan can get loud on these laptops when gaming.
