    Questions before i purchase an M15x

    To start off all prices in in AU$ and australian customization options from dell, now lets begin the questions. Base model is around $2400

    CPU: Ive been reading as much as i can between the 720qm and the 820qm. From what i can find is there really isnt too much performace gain to justify the $424 upgrade to the 820qm. All im using the machine for is gaming and work (autocad drafting). What are peoples thoughts, is the 820qm really really worth it?

    GPU: no brainer here, upgrade to 5870 asap! At least this is worth the price.

    DVD or BR: Im thinking take the stock DVD, ive seen m15x BR players on ebay for $68 compared to dells upgrade to BR for $238. Is the dvd slot easy to upgrade? I have alot of experience building PC's so im not asking if its a hard process just if its not soldered into the mobo or anything.

    So my main thought is go the stock system from dell, then upgrade the GPU and swap the dvd for a BR player. Total upgrade comes to around $500 compared to going through dells upgrades. The CPU is the main thing im flip flopping on trying to justify the price to upgrade to 820qm or not.
