I was just wondering, when Dell sends out technicians to repair your machine at home, what kind of hours do they have? Can you have them come on nights and weekends? Or do you have to take time off work?

Its "normal" business hours so 8am to 5pm usually. Why not just have them come to your work to fix it if possible? They dont have to come to your home to work on it.
Good Luck -
It is depend on you, for me the before they come they'll give me call for an appointment, and Weekday between 8am - 5pm only.
-
Well, that sucks. I'm gonna have to take time off work if something breaks and they need to fix it. Let's just hope nothing breaks!

To follow-up on this question, if it's too difficult for you to take time off work for the in-home repairs, do you always have the option to ship the computer to the depot for repair if you want?
-
I dont know but it worth a try, possibly they'll say it will be at your own risk, if anything go wrong.
-
I imagine Dell contracts out the at-home techs. So the hours will likely vary depending on who they choose in your area.
-
Hmm, so have ANY of you out there managed to get your system repaired on a night or weekend? It's almost impossible for me to take a day off from my job on such short notice so this really sucks.
-
Depends on where you live and how bad the Tech needs money. I have had one come as late as 1900 hours and another on a Saturday here in the San Diego area. When you get contacted by him just let him now when you can be there.

Also, Dell technicians get paid from Dell a flat-rate for every job. They aren't on a fixed wage and they don't get paid per hour. So if they need cash, they may even do your repair at 2am. It all depends on the individual technician.
They don't "send" someone out either, they will use a certified Dell technician who is in your local area, so again the times can be flexible. -
I am in Idaho and I have always had the tech come between 5-6pm after I get off work. One time he was there until nearly 9pm so it just depends.
