    hi all~

    I bought my m17x with Vista x64 home edition and 2x500gb in RAID 0. Now I want to reformat and install Vista x64 ultimate instead (old retail version with no SP). But Vista installation couldn't detect RAID array. Does anyone know where can I find a driver for this? I tried Dell support and no luck.

    Many thanks in advance~

    I have no idea if this will work for you but I as well had a problem with my dual 500gb hard drives last night... My OS wasn't detected after the A02 upgrade because of a raid glitch. When you start up hit f2 to go to set up. Go to advanced. On SATA options (I think) make sure it's set to RAID. On NV Options (or something like that) make sure it's enabled and when the two other options show up enable them as well.

    thanks for the quick reply. I just checked and all three options under RAID were enabled. Still Vista doesn't see raid array.

    I remember having a RAID startup disk included with my desktop motherboard. Does m17x come with such disk?

    The RAID drivers are on the Resource Disk.

    thanks and rep+

    In case others are wondering...

    1. Resource disk -> drivers -> chipset -> 64bit
    2. Run R219514.exe (decompress to folder C:\dell\drivers)
    3. Copy R219514 folder to a USB disk
    4. Run Vista installation
    4. Browse R219514 folder (USB disk) when promted.
