Hey guys.. as some of you know im getting a new rig.. and id like to know the following:
Im getting 3x (tri-channel) 2gb 1333mhz Swissbit sodimms (i suspect timings are the same as all other 1333mhz sodimms 9-9-9-24)
And pairing it with a i7-950, which sadly has only 4,8gt/sec bandwith, which makes ram run at only 1066mhz.
So my question is: can i change (lower) the timings on my ram since it being underclocked - and to what numbers can i lower them? Or is there any programm (since i doubt there will be an option in the bios to change the qpi bandwith of the cpu if the multis are locked) that would overclock the qpi to make the cpu and the ram work at at least near 1333mhz / 6,4gt/sec?

You need to test it... DDR3 don't like low timings :D

BTW TBH forget about it... The performance increase will be 1-2% doesn't worth the trouble lol

    BTW... Alienware? lol

Also if any1 knows any overclocking software to overclock my gtx 280m to its limit when it comes (and also the overvolted bios and how-to flash it, or any other overvolting software) it would be greatly appreciated if you told me about it. :D

Used to own a M17 until recently so i know most people here and very few on the Clevo forums..

The performance increase can be up to 5%.. so i just wanna max it out even if its just 1-2 fps in games.
Or any way to oc the qpi (cpu)?

no bud your 1333mhz ram will/ should as the laptop is running 1066 will be
8.8.8 24 ..... mine for some reason yousing ocz stuff runs at 8.8.8.20 which i think is ok.

if you ever got to go to 1333mhz on your laptop i.e they release 1333mhz prozzi for it then your timings will be 9.9.9 24 or 27
