at first i thought i was seeing thing and this thread was becoming like a bus. you dont see any for ages and then 3 come together![]()
youve now made 3 posts today about the same thing and to be honest it would be a good idea if you tried to keep all your post about the same thing together.

-
its no prob shaknbake. just didnt want you to get classed as a spammer for posting the same thing.
hope the above answered your questions for you and you get it sorted out.
this forum is great for advice so stick around as you might need it when you finally get your m15x -
MrDJ what is your opinion you think they will change it without any problems?
-
have you called them yet? talked to anyone?
-
try sending a private message to either AW Armando or AW James
they will be able to tell you exactly what stage your computer is upto. -
I spoke to a lady today named Denise she was very Unhelpful... Shes like your in phase 6 right now and if you want to make any changes you should call on Monday...I asked her if ill be able to make a change and she said yes... I dont believe she even cares... What I really want to do is tell them to pause the order until Monday so that they dont continue building it...
-
Yea thats AW for you. The 8800GTX is 2x more powerful than the 8700GT so it is definitely worth the upgrade.
-
Alright!!!!
Called them again wishing I wouldnt get the girl voice... This guy Joe picks up very nice and sais It would delay the shipment but its defenetly doable... I have to call Monday Morning 9AM
Cant wait to finally feel at ease when then actually say its going to be taken care of... Thanks for the help guys -
wish i was in phase 6 lol... ordered mine 2 weeks ago yesterday and its only in Phase 4 (for the past week and a half)... they said it would arrive august 19th LOL... and i need that **** thing for school on the 28th
-

shaknbakenyc, stop making new thread about what is essentially the same subject. Thank you.
-
that is definitely better. having the 8800 will make a big difference. oh btw i think you mean 8700, 8800, not the 5700 and 5800. just buy the ram from somewhere else. its much cheaper to put in yourself.
Alienware rips people off ram like Apple >> -
Not trying to sound mean or anything, BUT why are YOU FLOODING with THREADS...
On a side note however, you can always send back your laptop.... For instance im sending mine to upgrade to a 2.5 GHz cpu and the 8800 GTX later this month. -
yeah i meant 8800... can anyone suggest me a a type of ram to buy, i want 2x 2gb sticks... a link to purchase would be great
-
Well yes and NO. It would be fine if the questions were different, but i believe that all the threads you have started have essentially the same purpose which in case should only have a designated thread.
BTW: i hope you are happy with your order i do have some mixed feelings as to the decisions i took when ordering mine, and the problems i had to solve afterwards. -
You might get an infraction for this but whatever since you posted the same thing 3 times basically. The spec's you have listed look great. Look on newegg.com...

alright ill check that out... thank you guys for the help again I really appreciate it...
-
WHICH ONE SHOULD I GET AND WHICH IS BETTER?? 1st link or 2nd??? thanks

theres no difference so go for the cheaper one which is the G.Skill
-
Yeah, there's nothing wrong with G. Skill. I actually have their RAM on my m15x.
-
r u sure theres no difference in quality?
-
g.skill is a pretty good brand. my brother has it in his desktop for a while now so the quality should be pretty good.
-
Get G. Skill, it has a lifetime warranty so if the ram fails after 2 years you won't have to worry about buying new ram because they should help you out unless you damage the ram on purpose or when installing it.
-
G skill it is... Now is there a HUGEEE difference between the 2.4ghz and 2.5ghz they offer... i know its a hundred dollars more which i cant afford but since im buying a 2600 dollar laptop i guess another 100 wont hurt...
-
not that big a difference but since there is more cache in the 2.5 ghz one it will be a bit faster.
-
i guess ill stick with the 2.4ghz i cant afford to pay more you guys think its possible that i will have my new m15x by next week
-
Dude let it be. Doesn't matter how much u want it it wont come faster...
-
Crucial RAM 4GB http://shop2.frys.com/product/5503990 for $79.99 with a $40 dollar mail in rebate. I've heard G.Skill sends out a lot of DOA memory. The only person you should be asking about when your system will arrive is probably a psychic b/c alienware will take their time. Usually once they start building it it gets done in a day and shipped the next.
-
what is DOA memory? cheap bad?
-
-
hmm anything at newegg for memory? im sorry to be annoying but frys charges tax and newegg doesnt... let me know what you would highly recommend
-
THREAD CLOSED ... Mods please delete thread I apologize but I realized I can ask this question in my other topic
-
-
Also, you started another thread yet again asking about the best possible RAM for your system, when you clearly are asking that in this thread here. Having said that, Kingston, Crucial, OCZ, Corsair, and Transcend all make high end memory modules. The one I posted a link to is a great deal for great memory. So it's really up to you at this point. You basically should have just paid someone from this site to build your m15x so the forums would not have been haunted by you. No offense intended really, I apologize if I did offend you. -
Im still not so sure which is best? IS there a company you would recommend... how is this one? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148201

$40.00 Mail in Rebate valid from 2008-08-22 to 2008-08-28
Does this mean its too late for me to get a rebate since its Aug 25th?
sorry about the mulitiple posts i sort of deleted the other topic -
this is a fine product for your m15x.
as you may or may not have noticed, when asking on the forums for preference, or what is better over another, you will get a varied list of stories and reasons...
i simply look for what will fit, then whats on sale or has the best savings, or even rebates...
i have nto had any issues with any RAM from any company i have purchased from...and they range from kingston, OCZ, crucial, gskill, and a cpl others.
go with what you posted and you will be fine... -

CIS PADAWAN i would like to purchase that ram you recommened however is the rebate offer too late how does that work?
-
most rebates are good as long as the purchase was made during the time frame offered...the date of purchase should fall within or on the dates posted for the rebate time frame.
-
like ryujin said its available to you as long as you purchase within the time frame of the rebate.
-
I gotcha purchased it... thank you again for your help guys,,, you people are really helpful!

#1) was wondering, lets say I want to use the laptop in my room like on a desk, should I take out the battery and let it run on the AC Adapters power? Will this save Battery Life?
#2) Does installing your own Ram Void the warranty? Im not sure if I should put my own in until I know for sure it WONT void the warranty.
#3)Does the newer M15X models that people order in late August fix the issues with the overheating, keyword lagging, touch buttons not working well, and creaky display? Just curious because I ordered in in late August and was thinking maybe Alienware took care of a few of those problems...
Im thinking of taking some computer courses but I dont know which field makes the most money these days... Can anyone throw some ideas at me of what computer courses I should take. If you dont know its ok. -
1) Well, it does but it only really matters for extended periods of time. I only take it out if I know I won't be going anywhere with the laptop for a decent while.
2) I don't think installing RAM or a new system drive will void the warranty.
3) I believe all the overheating issues were fixed through BIOS updates, same with touch button issues. My display only creaks initially, it's really not that bad, imo. Keyboard unresponsiveness is being addressed through a future driver update that might come out soon. -
1) it certainly will extend your battery life span.
2) No, just call AW and have them walk you through the whole process.
3) Few people said yes
4) business make the most money? -
#1) Well, in a sense yes. You're cycling your battery less frequently by doing that.
#2) No. Ask a representative yourself to confirm it if you want.
#3) It's still too early to tell. What we can confirm so far is that the newer models do not have a keyboard flex issue. The keyboard still lags with repeated letters (ex. the two o's in google may lag and will only spell "gogle"), but they're currently working on a new driver to address it. The creaky display still exists (for me, at least) and as far as overheating goes, I haven't experienced it myself yet. All I do know so far is that it should not heat to the point where the screen starts to crack.
#4) As for computer courses, there's no specific course that would make the "most" money. Just go with what interests you the most and try to apply it to a job that needs what you have learned. Remember that if you don't like what you do, then you're essentially not going to be determined enough to get that job that makes the "most" money. -
thank you all for the responces...
Rate my M16X please!
