I'm going to retire the old Dell 9300 and buy an M17x but I need some input on the CPU/Memory/Video Card config. I want to spend around 2600. I was looking at going with the Core 2 T9800 2.93 along with base Video and Base Memory but wasn't sure if I should downgrade the processor and upgrade the RAM. I really think that the base video card will do for me since I'm really not using this for intense gaming. I also thought that if I went with the 4GB of memory I could upgrade at a later time if needed.

I'm planning on running Windows 7 Ultimate and also getting the 1920x1200 LCD.
The whole processor / video / memory piece is doing me in.

Like I said I'm not using it for intense gaming - mostly business oriented as a desktop replacement doing a little Video Editing and CAD work but again not a lot of this.
Any input would be a great help.
    Thanks

I would like to but I don't know how long it's going to be for the Allpowerfull Launch and my Dell is on its last legs. I figured if I ordered now it would be around 20 to 30 days for shipping and I can't be without a laptop.

and get a 260m sli or your video card. actually get a q 9000 or q9100 good for business applications and 3d modeling programs.
    :)
depends on your price range a qx9300 would be the best cpu to go, but you can always buy the qx 9300 for alot cheaper then geting it from dell.
