Question for you though, I have noticed that the volume adjuster light keeps flickering... Like it thinks I am trying to change the volume level. I have also noticed that it does change the volume level when it does that.

I tried cleaning the notebook and rebootiing, but it didn't work... Any suggestions?

i would suggest reseating the connector ribbon for the touch controls. there's a guide on the AW site somewhere.

    Try doing the following:
    1) Uninstall the Alienware Command Center.
    2) Uninstall the OSD Utility.
    3) Restart, then reinstall the OSD Utility and the Alienware Command Center in that order.
    4) If the problem recurs (comes back), schedule a check disk on your c:\ drive (with the "Automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" options checked.)

I was looking into the issue since I was also getting that kind of flickering/automatic volume changes starting a week ago. The first three options are normally part of the standard procedures into fixing the problem, but since it was recurring (for me, at least), the disk check, for some reason, fixed the issue permanently for me (when the m15x is or is not plugged in).

In any case, you can find the OSD utility and the Command Center in your MyHive located on the Alienware website.

Edit: Sorry, the first three options, edited post.

I did the first three steps below and that seemed to have fixed the problem. I haven't had that issues since. I will continue to monitor and let you know.

Other than that issue, everything seems to be working properly. I am very happy with the look of the notebook and the performance so far.
