    I don't know.... I was hoping for a slightly deeper red.

    I'm still ordering red and if I don't like it I'll buy the black or silver chassis afterwards.

    It's better to do that (if you want red at all) because Dell isn't selling the red chassis seperately.

    I agree with the darker red and yes I would have done the same as you. I also would order the black right away and change the bottom.

    I like the seamless look when the system is closed. I think it would look kinda funny with just the lid red, IMO. Maybe if the lid had a black border and the middle was red or something like that.

    It's just personal preference. Too much red cheapens the look a bit.

    im more shocked at the fact its a shiny red and not a matte one . I thought all the colors came in a matte finish . This one looks like a paint job with swirl marks and all :)

    Your probably right . Either way im not a fan though but it would be fun to have from time to time i imagine just for a change .My vote is till on Green/black combo.

    I was wondering why the red was glossy too! lol

    The flash sure made it look like it.

    I still like the red, just have to wait and see :D Now it's time to match up that red with some ATI goodness baked inside....

    More importantly anything you want to buy for the M17x will pop up on eBay just like for the M1730. It's more so with Dell products than any other vendor.

    But Dell isn't selling the red chassis AT ALL.

    They'll have to send it out for warranty/complete care work. Other than that I don't think we'll see that many (if any) on fleabay, etc.

    Like all things dell give it time and things may change. They say one thing one week like no you cant buy it separate then a month later you can.

    If its a custom paint job then that may be different though.

    I will admit that I was expecting a brushed metal look, not quite the smooth coat that they have. Was a very slight bummer when I went to the local Micro Center to check out their display model.

    Everything I have seen so far though leaves me happy with my choice of silver

    Yea well, i will take extra care, and if needed, I have some black touch up paint that i could put in scratches if they happened so they dont stick out being bright silver..

    Sorry, but I am reserving judgement until I see the red up close and personal! :D

    It might just be an awesome shade of red with a very slight gloss.... It's hard to tell from those pics. The camera could skew the shade and then the monitors we are using to look at the pic could distort it further.

    I sent my black M17x back(no restocking fee :p ) and got the Nebula...I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!

    i will upload pics later...its the same color as the red edition 730x...i have a 730x as well.

    when you take the picture, get in a well-lit area and don't use the flash.... seems to make the red look "plasticky".

    just saw a video of the red one on youtube. they don't show enough red. more than half the video is spent on unboxing(don't mind). im hoping they upload more. the little that i saw looked awesome. :eek:
