I've heard that installing the Alienware CC after a reformat will mess up your Alien FX. Is there any way to get around this? Also, my touchpad is very skippy, anyone else have this issue? I messed around with the touchpad settings but to no avail.

I want to reformat because I have 88 processes running out of the box.

    Thanks!

As long as you install the latest CC version from Dell's website after re-format - you should be fine. I did it not long ago and had no issues.

When you format; All drivers are lost, Meaning Microsoft drivers kick in to replace them, so to fix the AlienFX and other things like the touchpad, You need to install the drivers.

    aikimox - Thank you

Ikuto - I understand that. However, I've heard reinstalling the Alienware CC from the resource disc will mess up the Alien FX.

Yeah thats it.. So make sure you download the drivers from dell's support page rather than from the resource disc.
