Is there a certain number of claims required before you are entitled to a replacement system? - I've had my lcd replaced going on the 9th time, and last time my tech told me i've had it taken apart so many times i am starting to strip out screws. My current issue is that the built in microphone is not working all it picks up is static. - I was told on my last call i COULD receive a replacement system but instead opted for another lcd which they apparently did not place an order for, thus my problem was never solved.
I call in today, telling them of my troubles, how i've never received a call regarding a replacement from their local services folks. I am told because i have never had any issues with the mother board so i am not eligible for a system replacement - to list all the issues i have acquired: hinge x 4, on replacement lcd's dead pixels three times, doa webcam once, built in microphone not working once, palm rest lights quit working // replaced, and even the service plate on the bottom is the third i've been issued [whenever one of the rubber pieces on the bottom falls off this is what they send you, my end all fix ended up being some beast loctite super glue]
tl;dr - i am beyond tired of having my system completely disassembled only for the REFURBISHED part to fail or just be dead out of box - my avg life time for an lcd is 3 weeks, and at this point i would much enjoy just having my system replaced, regardless of new or used

What the hell are you doing to the laptop?! I'm just asking because it may shed some light as to why you're having so many problems...

Call up and tell them that you want a replacement, if they say no just be persistent but never be rude. I've had to call three times to get a tech to come over and replace my obviously broken cooling system, you've just got to find the right phone assistant who will actually bother to speak to their supervisor.

Sometimes i wonder how they cannot realize, that sending techs out and doing all the administration work for so many things to replace and wasting time on it, they could have saved themself alot of money in my oppinion. Not very effective your support you get from them, i would point that out once

They don't care, if you knew what they actually pay their average tech they don't lose money for quite a while. Unless it's a fried major part that can't be refurbed it's more profitable for them. One of the techs that came out on my m17x got paid $11 an hour is all. PM me for dell's corporate resolution center email so you can get a rep assigned to your case, they'll get you a replacement set up.
