I cannot find any documentation on how to open up the M15x so I can get at the keyboard. Alienware only has info on it for the M17x but the computers are different enough where the M17x guide is useless to me.

Can anyone walk me through replacing the keyboard for the M15x?

    Thank you!

Best idea is call Alienware. Have them do a step by step. So it dont void your warrintee and also help not ruid the top of the laptop.

Thanks Inappropriate! That guide is exactly what Alienware should be directing people to when you call them and ask for a guide - and not to the M17x directions!

And to anyone who is looking to replace the keyboard on your M15x here are the easy steps:

    1. Unplug computer & remove battery.
    2. You will see 4 screws under where the battery was, remove the outer 2. This releases the top panel above the keyboard where the Alienhead powerbutton is.
    3. Gently pop up the left & right sides of the touch strip section and lift away this section.
    4. Remove the 3 screws you see underneath the touchstrip/powerbutton piece. And flip the keyboard over onto the wrist rest/touchpad area. Unplug the cables and you have successfully removed the keyboard!
    5. Do all the steps in reverse to replace keyboard.

(I had to replace mine because they sent me a UK keyboard and I had to put in the US version)
